Silverstein Live At Royal Oak Music Theater

Silverstein played an insane show at Royal Oak Music Theater on the second date of their 20th Anniversary tour. The band has been together since 2000, so this is their way of celebrating 20 years together. Their setlist was divided into three parts and had a whopping 28 songs. Not to mention the two amazing opening bands that started out the show, Can’t Swim and The Plot in You.

Can’t Swim came out on stage with an incredible energy that got the crowd moshing almost instantly. They performed an 8 song setlist that included “Set the Room Ablaze”, “Sense of Humor” and “Deliver Us From Evil”. I’ll definitely be jamming to these guys for months after this show. Next up was The Plot in You, who was also awesome by the way. Mosh pits and crowd surfers were moving non-stop during their set. They mostly played songs from their new record Swan Song including “Enemy”, “Face Me” and “Paradigm”.

Last but not least, Silverstein hit the stage and came out swinging at about 9:00PM. Like I stated earlier, their setlist was divided into three parts. First they played the greatest hits section featuring “Burn It Down”, “Smashed into Pieces” and “Retrograde”. After 10 songs, the band then slowed it down to play the acoustic portion of their set. Some songs they performed acoustically were “Where Are You”, “Still Dreaming” and “Aquamarine”. The final portion of Silverstein’s setlist was the entire Discovering the Waterfront album played from front to back. This is the band’s second album and debuted in 2005. The band started with “Your Sword Versus My Dagger” and finished with “Call It Karma”. But, they couldn’t end the show without an encore, so the band came back onstage to perform “Bleeds No More” and then exited the stage.

Overall, this was an awesome show with three very talented bands. It was my first time seeing all these bands and I was blown away. I was excited to be back in the mosh pit for the first time since COVID hit.
