Godsmack and Staind at Pine Knob

Rock and roll legends Godsmack came down upon Clarkston Michigan in a firestorm on August 9th. With close touring friends of the band Staind! With over four decades of music under both bands, the sold out show was ready to rock. Starting off the show was a very special set from rock and roll legend Mix Master Mike from the Beastie Boys and I am so happy I got to finally see part of this legendary group! It really was an amazing way to start the night. After Mix Master Mike got the crowd warmed up, Staind took the stage. Fronted by lead vocals and guitar player Aaron Lewis, love him or hate him, he brought down the house. With a voice as powerful as his backed by a solid band, it’s almost impossible to have a bad show, playing some crowd favorites from every album such as “Fade” and “Something To Remind You”. Hiding his face with his hands wrapped over the microphone, Aaron Lewis sang his heart out until the night ended!

As the sun went down and the lights went off, a massive curtain draped over the stage with a video of Mix Master Mike projected over the screen! After the video ended and the curtain dropped, Godsmack sprung into action with the hit song “When Legends Rise” bringing the crowd to their feet and engaging mosh pits throughout the venue. Little did the crowd know, the real excitement would start during the second song, “1000hp”. During this song performance flames shot from all over the stage as they rocked out! I personally loved Godsmack’s set and would 100% buy a ticket anytime they are in town!
