VOLBEAT SHARE NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR “WAIT A MINUTE MY GIRL”
vbb.jpg

Today, Volbeat, the multi-platinum Danish band, share their new music video for “Wait A Minute My Girl.” The music video was directed by Sean Donnelly, founder of AWESOME+modest, with collages by Mengqing Yuan, and animation by Steve Yeung. AWESOME+modest is an animation studio based in Los Angeles, California that specializes in mixed media techniques. They most recently created all of the animation in the HBO documentary miniseries "The Lady and the Dale", Marvel's "Behind the Mask" and Showtime's "The One and Only Dick Gregory." The band said of the video: “After seeing the work they did on The Lady and the Dale we knew that Sean and the team at Awesome+modest could do something trippy and creative for “Wait A Minute My Girl.” This video exceeded even our wildest expectations. It’s weird, fun and crazy – we absolutely love it.” Watch the music video for “Wait A Minute My Girl” here.

Along with “Wait A Minute My Girl” Volbeat also recently shared their song “Dagen Før.” The two tracks, the band’s first new music since 2019’s album Rewind, Replay, Rebound, were written and recorded while the world was in lockdown during the pandemic. Michael, Kaspar and Jon recorded their parts with long-time producer Jacob Hansen in Denmark, while Rob worked remotely from New York.

“Wait A Minute My Girl” features saxophone player Doug Corcoran and piano player Raynier Jacob Jacildo, who both perform with JD McPherson’s band and previously appeared with Volbeat on 2019’s “Die To Live (feat. Neil Fallon).” Singer Mia Maja, who has worked with the band since Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie, also appears on backing vocals. “Dagen Før” features guest vocals from Danish artist Stine Bramsen, who is known for her solo work as well as being a member of the band Alphabeat. The song, in the tradition of “The Garden’s Tale,” “Maybele I Hofteholder” and “For Evigt,” features both English and Danish lyrics, and marks the first commercially-released song that features Stine singing in her native Danish.

Since forming in 2001, Volbeat has gone from the clubs of Copenhagen to headlining stages around the world, including the famed Telia Parken stadium in Denmark (and becoming the only domestic artist to ever sell out the venue). Over the course of eight record-breaking albums the band has picked up number one songs (including eight #1s on the US Mainstream Rock chart and counting), multi-platinum certifications, awards and accolades (including a Grammy nomination) all over the planet. Their latest album, Rewind, Replay, Rebound, was released on August 2nd, 2019 and has spawned the hit singles “Last Day Under The Sun,” “Die To Live (feat. Neil Fallon)” and “Leviathan.” A live album featuring songs recorded during the subsequent world tour, Rewind, Replay, Rebound: Live in Deutschland, was released digitally on November 27th, 2020. A vinyl-only bonus track compilation, Hokus Bonus, was originally made available on limited-edition vinyl on RSD Black Friday 2020 and will be available in a new, limited European version and a North American standard version this Summer and are available for pre-order at volbeat.dk.

LISTEN TO “XOXO: From Love & Anxiety In Real Time” HERE

Lead singer John O’Callaghan says, “I suppose it’s mostly for you to decide what ‘XOXO’ means. But to me, it’s the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows, and every last little feeling in between. So without dirtying it all up with words, please sit back and with an open head and heart and allow us to bring you our 8th studio album, XOXO FROM LOVE & ANXIETY IN REAL TIME.”

The first track and single from the LP “Sticky,” released in March is a pop gem. It proves its lyrics “want to play you over and over again” to be true by reaching #16 on Mediabase’s Alternative chart and the song recently debuted on the “Alt 18” on SiriusXM’s Alt Nation.

The album pivots to tracks “Pretender'' and “High Forever” which flex their rock sensibilities.

The pretty, jangly “Pretender” is a poignant catchy cut. “High Forever” relies on John’s rasp and drummer Pat Kirch’s powerful percussion to drive the song.

The infectious “Lips” is a sweet summer anthem. The love song, which kicks off with a riff which propels listeners to get up and dance.

The new 10-track album, XOXO: From Love And Anxiety In Real Time, showcases their knack for combining pop and rock without losing any danceability. The Maine’s roots in DIY remain strong on this record as the band effortlessly boasts their homemade anthemic and revelatory lyrics on each track. Their songwriting on this collection includes their consistently thoughtful lyrics touching on the topics of love and mental health while holding onto their positive radio friendly sound.

John's vocals dance through catchy melodies, expertly backed by the rest of the band’s masterful performances.

The Maine is John O’Callaghan (Lead Vocals, Piano, Rhythm Guitar), Kennedy Brock (Guitar, Back-up Vocals), Jared Monaco (Lead Guitar), Garrett Nickelsen (Bass), and Pat Kirch (Drums, Percussion).

Jointly The Maine have announced a pop-up shop in Los Angeles on 7/10 starting at 11AM PT until 5PM PT. It is being held at 1028 South Los Angeles Street, Los Angeles, CA.

The Maine will head out on tour alongside All Time Low, Movements, Grayscale, and Destroy Boys, on the Sad Summer Festival.

GWAR to Release “Scumdogs Live” September 10th via Pit Records
gwar.jpg

Last year when everyone else was stuck at home, your Lords and Masters GWAR braved the pandemic to reunite with their lost Scumdog brethren for an evening of pure shock rock madness they dubbed “Scumdogs XXX Live.” The show, which was billed as a “once in a lifetime” pay per view event, was filmed in an empty crack house in Richmond, VA and featured the return of beloved GWAR characters Slymenstra Hymen, Sleazy P. Martini, Sexecutioner and Techno Destructo.

Now you, the Bohabs, have a chance to relive this event over and over again with the release of “Scumdogs Live,” on September 10th via Pit Records. This amazing release is available in three formats (listed below) and can be pre-ordered HERE

The Berserker Blóthar, lead throat thing of GWAR, had this to say about the release:

“This thing was a three-ring gangbang circus from the drop. I just wanted to hang around with our old friends and get blasted, but of course, we had to face all of our Scumdogs era villains; Techno Destucto, the Redneck From Hell, and the Bad Biker Bitch to name a few. All was well until Slymenstra lit me on fire during her torch dance. With friends like that, who needs enemies?”

CAMYLIO RELEASES DEBUT SINGLE “LOVE AND HATE” TODAY
bj.jpg

After emerging as an internet-breaking presence with over 100 million views and counting, buzzing vocal phenomenon Camylio shares his debut single “love and hate” today via Republic Records. Listen to “love and hate

Underscored by hypnotic keyboards, Camylio’s voice immediately takes center stage. He delivers raw emotion on the verses before serving up a climactic chorus shaped and supported by his raw vocal prowess. The hook will immediately put you into your feels as he confesses, “It’s tearing me apart that you’re moving on while I’m paralyzed, guess sometimes that love and hate, oh my, it’s a fine line. Fittingly, the song arrives on his 20th birthday as the ultimate gift to fans!

On the inspiration behind the song, Camylio says, “When you’re in a relationship, you share music and playlists. As soon as everything goes wrong and falls apart, you can’t even listen to the songs associated with that person anymore. You’ve broken up, and you’re trying to get yourself together. You’re attempting to move on and put the pieces back together. However, all you can fixate on is if your ex is going through something similar.”

Camylio has impressively attracted 3.2 million TikTok followers and generated 35.6 million “likes” in the process. Now, he’s working on his first EP due out later this year.

Clad in a classic black shirt against a dark backdrop, Camylio leans into his microphone, presses down on the ivory of his keyboard, and sings with enough passion and power to stir the world to its feet. It’s a scene meant for a stadium, but he’s in his bedroom framed by a smartphone camera yet beamed out to an audience of millions on social media. Throughout 2021, he performed like this at a dizzying pace and quietly emerged as a phenomenon renowned for a Richter Scale-registering voice. For his 16th birthday, his parents allowed him to choose either “a car or a laptop.” Thankfully, he chose the latter, spending countless hours pouring over song credits and learning how to produce via YouTube and Twitch.

During November 2020, he launched his TikTok with one video daily. He filled an Amazon shopping cart with a $200 backdrop, ten black hoodies, ten black long-sleeve shirts, and five black short-sleeve shirts in order to maintain a consistent aesthetic. His cover of “Dusk Till Dawn” by Sia and ZAYN exploded with 7 million-plus views. Eventually, he broke the internet as his take on SLANDER’s “Love Is Gonefeat. Dylan Matthew generated north of 50 million views in under ten days. He caught the attention of Republic Records and signed to the label. After shaking the internet, the 20-year-old New York singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer properly introduces himself with a series of singles and his debut EP.

OFF! DEBUT NEW LINEUP ON FIRST NEW RECORDING IN SEVEN YEARS

OFF! DEBUT NEW LINEUP ON FIRST NEW RECORDING IN SEVEN YEARS, COVER “HOLIER THAN THOU” FOR THE METALLICA BLACKLIST

PUNK SUPERGROUP SIGN TO FAT POSSUM FOR FUTURE RELEASES AND BACK CATALOG REISSUES

 OFF! photo by Jeff Forney

OFF!, the punk braintrust formed in 2010 by Keith Morris (ex-Black Flag, Circle Jerks) and Dimitri Coats (ex-Burning Brides), have just shared their first new recording in seven years: a cover of Metallica’s “Holier Than Thou” slated for official release on September 10th as part of The Metallica Blacklist, a compilation spanning 53 artists covering songs from The Black Album. The recording marks the debut of the band’s powerful new rhythm section: bassist Autry Fulbright II (...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead) and drummer Justin Brown (Thundercat, Herbie Hancock). The injection of new energy into the band’s signature high-anxiety hardcore is palable and volatile, adding a new swing to the music’s incendiary thrust. “Holier Than Thou” arrives in conjunction with a music video starring David Yow (Jesus Lizard), Angelo Moore (Fishbone), and Derrick Beckles (TV Carnage).

The band have also just signed to the meticulously curated indie powerhouse Fat Possum, who are planning a full reissue of the band’s back catalog for later this year. Meanwhile OFF! are continuing to work on a plethora of projects, including their first studio album with the new lineup and their long-planned sci-fi feature film. Much more to come.
