Kodak Black delivers 100 air conditioners to his home town
kb.jpg

“We do it for the projects, the people relying on just enough cash to survive,” Kodak Black said.

Kodak Black returned to his old neighborhood July 3 to help out the city where he grew up. The Rapper handed out air conditioners to the residents of the Golden Acres projects in Pompano Beach, FLA.

As temperatures reached the mid 90’s photos and videos showed up of the “Project Baby” bringing new AC’s to the front steps of peoples homes

Kodak told residents, “God [has] been with me when I had to take from people. Now that I’m blessed enough to to give back, that’s what I like to do. So, we out here passing out AC units, helping install them.”

“We do it for the projects, the people relying on just enough cash to survive. Y’all come get y’all ACs. We out here,” he added. The embattled 24-year-old rapper teamed up with community activist/homeless advocate Francky Pierre-Paul, who is the founder and CEO of the nonprofit organization A Different Shade of Love. Pierre-Paul served as the plug for the ACs, which TMZ reports were worth around $12,500.

“Today, we went back to Golden Acres where Kodak grew up and passed out 100 AC units,” Pierre-Paul wrote on Instagram. “Kodak not only respects where he is from, but he values the people that looked out for him while he was there. He spoke on how HOT the summers can get and AC units was the very first thing he thought of, so we did it without any hesitation. When I got the call, I smiled because I know that his heart is pure and the love is real. I’m just blessed I get to be a part of the journey!!!”

Kodak’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, also chimed in on Twitter to comment on his client’s philanthropic endeavor. “@kodakblack doing what he normally does every week without the press. Helping his community and people. Is he deserving yet? #kodakgivesback” he wrote.

KASH DOLL RELEASES NEW VIDEO PERFORMANCE OF “THUMBIN”

Stars in 50 Cent’s New Starz Series ‘Black Mafia Family’ Due Out in the Fall

“Kash Doll is sharp, headstrong and savvy” – Billboard

“One of the most promising acts of female rap's current class” – Nylon

“Kash Doll has established herself as a pioneering force in the industry.”– MTV

“Kash Doll has established herself as one of hip-hop’s leading female voices.” – XXL

Bossing up once more, gold-selling Detroit rapper, entrepreneur, and actress Kash Doll drops a new performance video for “Thumbin” today via Republic Records.

As part of the new Shot On Air @Republic Studios series, the tight clip highlights her palpable charisma and intense presence. Donning black shades, she tears into the verses with precise delivery before carrying the hook in style. It speaks to her undeniable power as a performer and ratchets up excitement for her return to the road.

“Thumbin” has already racked up over 1.4 million streams to date. Additionally, HotNewHipHoppraised the track’s “addictive chorus and copious amounts of quotable lyrics, while hailing it as “the next big hit on short-form video sharing platforms like TikTok and Triller.

Kash Doll continues to pull up everywhere this year. She features on Saweetie’s “Hoops” alongside the legendary Salt-N-Pepa from the mega-anticipated Space Jam: A New LegacySoundtrack. She’ll take the stage at Rolling Loud LA on December 10 and appears in a starring recurring role on STARZ’ Black Mafia Family, which will air this fall.

Get ready for more from Kash Doll as she readies her next project for impact soon.

On “Thumbin,” Kash Doll rips through bars as fast as she counts cash over simmering trap hi-hats and a sample of crisp dollar bills flapping. Flexing without apology, she flosses on the immediately irresistible hook.

It arrived on the heels of her knockout collaboration with DJ Famous“Bad Azz” feat. Mulatto & Benny The Butcher, which has amassed 9 million streams and counting. Beyond features from REVOLT, Pitchfork, Brooklyn Vegan and more, UPROXX claimed, Kash Doll, DJ Infamous, Mulatto, and Benny The Butcher show why the competition is mad with ‘Bad Azz’.

Kash Doll continues to make waves. Receiving critical acclaim from Vulture and Marie Claire, Essence praised, “If there’s one rapper who can teach us a thing or two about remaining confident, it’s Kash Doll. Meanwhile, she guested on “Friday Night Cypher” from Big Sean’s chart-dominating Detroit 2 and joined forces with HoodCelebrityy for “So Pretty.

Detroit native Kash Doll has impacted the music industry with a commanding force, dropping street-earned truths with her throwback wordplay and powerful bars. The one-two combination of spirit and sass announced her as fiery female force in 2019 after quietly amassing 30 million-plus on-demand streams, garnering the BMI Social Star Award and “Issa Wave Award” at the BET Social Awards, securing a new management deal with Title 9 Productions and inking a recording contract with Republic Records. An unbelievable story brought her to this point. Losing her dad on just her first birthday, she always held down multiple jobs to support her mom and siblings. And at 18, she started investing in herself eventually opening two beauty bars and funding her own music career. She made waves on the 2014 independent debut mixtape, Keisha Vs. Kash Doll. Following 2016’s Trapped In The Dollhouse, she developed a presence as a touring force and earned coveted co-signs from Drake, Big Sean, Rick Ross, Remy Ma, and many more. The 2018 The Vault mixtape captured #1 on multiple mixtape sites as her debut single for Republic Records “Ice Me Out” and its 2 Chainz-assisted official remix clocked 85 million-plus total streams. Last year, Kash Doll also released a project solely for her fans titled Brat Mail to thank them for all their continued support. The project garnered over 30 million global streams and features the break out single “Check.” Shortly before Brat Mail, Kash released one of her biggest singles to date, “For Everybody,” which racked up over 101 million YouTube/VEVO views independently. Outside of music, this boss runs Kash Doll Enterprises and does charity work around her hometown. Her city bestowed the “Spirit of Detroit” Award upon her. Additionally, in 2019, Kash Doll released her debut album Stacked, received a 2019 BET Award nomination for “Best Female Hip-Hop Artist,” garnered critical acclaim for her album from Billboard, MTV, UPROXX, BET, Forbes, Nylon and more and toured with Meek Mill. This year will be full of brand new music, acting and more from the Detroit star.

GLASSJAW ANNOUNCES 20+ YEAR ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION

Glassjaw, the legendary and often imitated New York post-hardcore band, has announced a 20+ year anniversary collection including seminal records 2000’s Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence, 2002’s Worship And Tribute and for the first time, a live album from their legendary 2011 The Forum London set called Live At The Forum. It is a tour-exclusive three-piece vinyl set (not a bundle) only accessible with a separately sold ticket. In typical Glassjaw fashion, this vinyl collection will only be available for a limited time and in limited quantities. The pre-sale for the vinyl will go live July 9, and ticket-holders will pick up their purchased vinyl at the 20+ Year Anniversary shows they attend. Visit Glassjaw.com next Friday, July 9, at 12pm ET to participate.

Upon its release in the summer of 2002, Worship And Tribute was supposed to close with their song “Convectuoso,” but due to existing strife and legalities with the band’s previous label, Glassjaw was forced to strike it from their final composition. Twenty years later, the band has since gained back the rights to “Convectuoso,” and on the new reissue, Glassjaw fans will hear Worship And Tribute as the band originally intended.

Live At The Forum, included in the three-piece vinyl set is the band’s first official live release. Taken from their legendary 2011 London Forum set, the album’s tracklisting includes the original setlist (minus the encore) which is comprised of songs from both EYEWTKAS and Worship And Tribute, as well as 2011’s Our Color Green EP. The band will return to the O2 London Forum on May 27 and 28, 2022 as part of newly announced 20+ Year Anniversary tour dates.

The now 22-date, 15-city tour will kick off March 2, 2022, for two nights in Los Angeles, making stops in San Francisco, Denver, Austin, Atlanta, Chicago, Philadelphia, Brooklyn and more, with added dates in London and Pomona, CA (full dates below). Select cities will feature back-to-back nights with one album performance per night, while others will tackle both albums in one fell swoop with an intermission in between—full dates and info below with tickets on sale now at Glassjaw.com.

G HERBO RETURNS WITH NEW ALBUM 25 OUT TODAY
25CoverOption27(Print) (1).jpg

Delivering one of the most important hip-hop statements of 2021, chart-topping phenom and platinum-selling G Herbo drops his fourth full-length album, 25, today. Right out of the gate, it captured #1 on the iTunes Top Rap/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and went Top 10 on the iTunes Overall Albums Chart. He also joins this release with a chilling video for the lead single, “I Don’t Wanna Die.”

G Herbo opens up like never before on the record. Complex hailed it as “a confessional album that opens a window into his world at the quarter-century mark.” His raps rip deeper, while the hooks hit harder than ever. He’s delivered a project that speaks to the struggles of the Windy City and this generation while showing it’s possible to build an empire.

As such, G Herbo has assembled his biggest, boldest, and the best body of work to date with 25. Among these 19 tracks, he recruited a cohort of A-list collaborators, including Polo G and Lil Tjay on “Cry No More,” 21 Savage on “T.O.P.”, and The Kid LAROI and Gunna on “You Can’t.” Through and through, his authoritative flows, incisive choruses, and raw heart shine.

In the black and white video for “I Don’t Wanna Die” directed by child, G Herbo paints a clear picture of Chicago natives being targeted in their own communities. The sobering imagery is a heartfelt testimony of why he continues to be the voice of the streets.

He bulldozed a path for the project earlier this year with “Break Yoself,” and “Really Like That.” The FADER attested, “The tracks feel like siblings with their gunmetal-black sounds and visions of violence and wealth, though I can imagine turning up to ‘Really Like That’.” Plus, 25 boasts the fan-favorite “Statement,” nearing 10 million streams.

Welcome to the Jam! NBA champion and global icon LeBron James goes on an epic adventure alongside timeless Tune Bugs Bunny with the animated/live-action event “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” from director Malcolm D. Lee and an innovative filmmaking team including Ryan Coogler and Maverick Carter. This transformational journey is a manic mashup of two worlds that reveals just how far some parents will go to connect with their kids. When LeBron and his young son Dom are trapped in a digital space by a rogue A.I., LeBron must get them home safe by leading Bugs, Lola Bunny and the whole gang of notoriously undisciplined Looney Tunes to victory over the A.I.’s digitized champions on the court: a powered-up roster of professional basketball stars as you’ve never seen them before. It’s Tunes versus Goons in the highest-stakes challenge of his life, that will redefine LeBron’s bond with his son and shine a light on the power of being yourself. The ready-for-action Tunes destroy convention, supercharge their unique talents and surprise even “King” James by playing the game their own way. James stars alongside Oscar nominee Don Cheadle (the “Avengers” films, “Hotel Rwanda”), Khris Davis (“Judas and the Black Messiah,” TV’s “Atlanta”), Sonequa Martin-Green (TV’s “The Walking Dead,” “Star Trek: Discovery”), newcomer Cedric Joe, Jeff Bergman (“Looney Tunes Cartoons”) and Eric Bauza (“Looney Tunes Cartoons”). Lee (“Girls Trip,” “Night School”) directs from a screenplay by Juel Taylor & Tony Rettenmaier & Keenan Coogler & Terence Nance. The film’s producers are Ryan Coogler, LeBron James, Maverick Carter and Duncan Henderson, and the executive producers are Sev Ohanian, Zinzi Coogler, Allison Abbate, Jesse Ehrman, Jamal Henderson, Spencer Beighley, Justin Lin, Terence Nance and Ivan Reitman. The director’s behind-the-scenes creative team includes director of photography Salvatore Totino (“Spider-Man: Homecoming”), animation producer Troy Nethercott (“Wonder Park”), production designers Kevin Ishioka (“The Mule”), Akin McKenzie (Netflix’s “When They See Us”) and Clint Wallace (upcoming “Eternals”), editor Bob Ducsay (“Godzilla: King of the Monsters,” “Star Wars Episode VIII – The Last Jedi”) and costume designer Melissa Bruning (“Rampage,” “War for the Planet of the Apes”). The music is by Kris Bowers (“Greenbook,” Netflix’s “Bridgerton”). Warner Bros. Pictures Presents a Proximity/The SpringHill Company Production, a Malcolm D. Lee Film, “Space Jam: A New Legacy.” The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures. It will be released in theaters nationwide on July 16, 2021 and will be available in the U.S. on HBO Max for 31 days from theatrical release.

SKI MASK THE SLUMP GOD RETURNS WITH SIN CITY THE MIXTAPE

Returning with extreme intensity, critically acclaimed multiplatinum Florida spitter Ski Mask The Slump God is back with a brand new project entitled Sin City The Mixtape via Victor Victor Worldwide/Republic Records. Listen to Sin City The MixtapeHERE.

It notably marks his first body of work since 2018’s chart-topping gold-certified Stokeley. Living up to its namesake, he rips through these nine tracks with all the frenetic energy, ominous unpredictability, and epic scope of the Robert Rodriguez adaptation of Frank Miller’s classic graphic novel Sin City. Once again, his verbal acrobatics steal the show as he perverts pop culture references into pummeling rhymes on the likes of the single “Admit It” where Reptilian and Alice In Wonderland breathe the same contaminated air. “Intro” pairs a cracking, yet intimate vocal over the hum of a defibrillator, while clean guitar bleeds into an X-Men-worthy barrage on “Mental Magneto” and the acoustic “Lost In Time” spins depression into melodic bliss.

Check out the full tracklisting below.

Last year, Ski Mask The Slump God dropped the protest-anthem “Burn The Hoods. The politically charged banger amassed north of 70 million streams thus far. Picking up critical acclaim, NPR claimed it “captured the defiant, cathartic energy of a crowd of people tearing down a statue of a Confederate general.

BLACK-ISH STAR KATLYN NICHOL REVEALS MUSIC VIDEO FOR “LIAR”
kat.jpg

Asserting herself as a dynamic presence beyond standout turns on television shows such as American Soul and Black-ish, North Carolina-born and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, actress, and performer Katlyn Nichol unveils the sultry music video for her debut single “Liar” today via CMNTY Culture RCRDS/Republic Records.

The video, which premiered on Refinery29 today, spotlights her undeniable charisma and show-stopping star power. She commands the camera’s attention with impressive dance moves and palpable energy. The visual moves in sync seamlessly with the song’s genre-defiant upbeat bounce.

“Liar” arrived to instant critical acclaim. SoulBounce urged, “we suggest you prepare to get used to hearing her name, and Rated R&B fittingly described it as “breezy.

“Liar” not only introduces Katlyn as a dynamic all-around entertainer, but it also hints at much more to come.

For as much as Katlyn Nichol flourishes in front of the camera as an actress, she really thrives the moment she picks up a microphone. The North Carolina-born and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, actress, and performer can hit steeple-size vocal peaks, get sassy on a beat, and dazzle with charisma and charm all within the span of the same song. At the age of two, Katlyn would sing from her car seat, belting out gospel runs along with the radio. Soon, she found herself recording backup vocals and melodies for her dad’s recordings and decided to devote her life to music at that young age. Relocating to New Jersey, she gained her first industry experience by working with various management companies in between attending the prestigious Cicely L. Tyson Community School of Performing and Fine Arts. By 12-years-old, Mary J. Blige personally signed her to Matriarch/Def Jam Records. The legend often invited Katlyn to make guest appearances on stage. All of these moves contributed to her evolution as an artist and all-around entertainer. She nailed an audition for BET’S American Soul and captivated millions as Simone Clark, acting, singing, and dancing for the run of the show. In 2020, she joined the cast of Black-ish as Olivia Lockhart and will be returning for the upcoming final season. However, she never stopped writing, recording, and singing. During early 2021, she caught the attention of CMNTY Culture RCRDS and Republic Records and landed a deal with the label.

BASTILLE RELEASES NEW SINGLE “DISTORTED LIGHT BEAM” TODAY

FIRST TRACK FROM THE BAND’S FORTHCOMING NEW ALBUM

SONG CO-WRITTEN AND CO-PRODUCED BY RYAN TEDDER

SET TO PERFORM ON GOOD MORNING AMERICA’S SUMMER CONCERT SERIES ON AUGUST 23RD

bass.jpg

Today, GRAMMY®-nominated and multi-platinum selling band Bastille returns with their new single, “Distorted Light Beam”—listen HERE. “Distorted Light Beam,” a gleaming, metallic rush of retro-futuristic pop, is the first song from the band’s upcoming fourth studio album, set for release later this year. In true Bastille fashion, it marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band—one that revolutionizes their sound—and hints at a new sonic and visual world to come.

The track is released alongside a cinematic official video starring British actress Remmie Milner from the BAFTA-winning series, Save Me, and frontman Dan Smith. Set in the future, the video sees a newly developed immersive technology, “Futurescape,” created by pioneering global tech entity, Future Inc., transform life as we know it.

On “Distorted Light Beam,” co-written and co-produced with Ryan Tedder alongside the band’s long-time collaborator Mark Crew, the multi-award-winning British band reflect on how we are all changing and the ways in which we can manipulate our realities to fit a narrative that better suits us. Call it dystopian, utopian, or simply call it the future...This isn’t a song that sits in judgement, so much as recognizes the paradigmatic shift taking place. “When I’m dreaming tonight, I can do anything,” sings Dan, “When I’m dreaming tonight, I can go anywhere… When I’m dreaming tonight, I can be anyone…”

Of the song, Dan says, “For us, ‘Distorted Light Beam’ soundtracks dancing through some twisted, euphoric, futuristic club space. It’s a song about limitless possibilities—which isn’t something any of us actually have in real life right now, so it’s been fun to explore that idea while experimenting with new sounds in our music.”

Bastille has always reflected on their surroundings in their art, but how do they make sense of a world where fake news has agency and our reality is increasingly lived online? A world where we can be whoever we want to be from behind the glare of a screen, as we create avatars that transcend our inadequacies and gloss over the disappointments that real life throws at us. 21st Century boredom has accelerated the need to create fantasies, compounded further by the recent pandemic. From flattering filters on Instagram to inhabiting the virtual-scapes of the gamer’s universe, both offer us an infinite freedom and the ability to thrive more so than real life itself.

As Bastille embarks onto this new chapter, the band is set to perform new music on Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series on August 23rd—be sure to tune in!
