The last time we had new music from MCR was in 2010 right before they announced they would be taking a break. now 12 years later it seems like the everything is falling apart and this is exactly what the world needs! The song sounds like it could be a hidden track right off of Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. The band starts their North American tour in September in Detroit MI and will also be heading Riot Fest. Raising the bar yet again for her breakout year, Platinum superstar Coi Leray unveils a new single entitled “Okay Yeah” today. Listen to “Okay Yeah”
Once again, her claws come out with highly quotable and hyper catchy bars before she ignites another chantable chorus. “Okay Yeah” pops off as her latest anthem. The song also notably features on the blockbuster Madden 22 in-game and on the Official Soundtrack Album.
It arrives in the wake of her recent banger “At The Top” [feat. Kodak Black & Mustard]. To date, it has racked up over 4.2 million streams and earned widespread praise. UPROXX highlighted “variety of flows from the lilting melody of the hook to a Playboi Carti-esque, clipped cadence at the beginning of her verse,” and The Source assured “Coi Leray is keeping her hot streak going.” HotNewHipHop put it best, “she's only concerned with things that will help her ‘elevate,’ and she's stuck to her word.” Not to mention, she stands out as among this year’s coveted XXL “Freshman Class.”
Coi shows no signs of stopping or slowing down. In 2021, she served up “Bout Me.” Receiving critical acclaim, Complex praised her integration of “of pop and hip-hop worlds, with her oscillating between staccato raps and warbling, auto-tuned vocals,” and Hip Hop Weekly noted she “keeps the hits coming.”
It followed closely on the heels of the blockbuster music video for “BIG PURR (Prrd).” Right out of the gate, it racked up 1.7 million views in less than a week. HipHopDX raved, “One of 2021’s hottest collaborations has an even hotter video to match its Billboard-blazing hype,” and UPROXX put it best, “Coi Leray’s 2021 is off to a fantastic start.” It’s already amassed over 40 million total streams and counting.
Since its release, “BIG PURR (Prrd)” has spawned 660K-plus videos on TikTok with nearly 50 million views. The song has also charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and Rolling Stone Top 100 songs charts, where it continues to climb. Its predecessor “No More Parties” picked up her first gold plaque from the RIAA and scaled the Billboard Hot 100, where it’s ascending the top 30. It soundtracked nearly 500k videos on TikTok with over 71.5 million views. The “No More Parties (Remix)” music video remains in the Top 10 most watched videos on VEVO and a fixture in mtvU’s rotation.
Coi also made her television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with a performance of “No More Parties.”
Accelerating her rapid rise, Coi holds a spot in the Top 5 of the Billboard Emerging Artists chart and on Rolling Stone’s Breakthrough 25. Additionally, Billboard christened her the “R&B/Hip-Hop Rookie of the Month.” Continuing her takeover, she spoke to Complex and In The Know about “first date style” and unveiled how to make hot banana pudding on the fan favorite original content series Cooking with Coi Leray. She also graced the lineup of Rolling Loud in Miami on July 24. What’s more, Coi has received public support from industry heavy weights such as Drake, Megan The Stallion, Cardi B and CityGirls- JT & Yung Miami.
Coi Leray also stars in a new campaign for the SKIMS “Cozy Collection” by Kim Kardashian West. For the campaign, Coi Leray modeled the new collection and linked up with singer Destiny Rodgers for a special SKIMS TikTok to Destiny’s song, “Tom Boy” which was reposted on Instagram stories and praised by Kim Kardashian West. Coi can be seen in the official video for the revamped single.
Stay tuned for more exciting news to come from Coi Leray as she continues to ascend into viral superstardom!

Today, Volbeat, the multi-platinum Danish band, share their new music video for “Wait A Minute My Girl.” The music video was directed by Sean Donnelly, founder of AWESOME+modest, with collages by Mengqing Yuan, and animation by Steve Yeung. AWESOME+modest is an animation studio based in Los Angeles, California that specializes in mixed media techniques. They most recently created all of the animation in the HBO documentary miniseries "The Lady and the Dale", Marvel's "Behind the Mask" and Showtime's "The One and Only Dick Gregory." The band said of the video: “After seeing the work they did on The Lady and the Dale we knew that Sean and the team at Awesome+modest could do something trippy and creative for “Wait A Minute My Girl.” This video exceeded even our wildest expectations. It’s weird, fun and crazy – we absolutely love it.” Watch the music video for “Wait A Minute My Girl” here.
Along with “Wait A Minute My Girl” Volbeat also recently shared their song “Dagen Før.” The two tracks, the band’s first new music since 2019’s album Rewind, Replay, Rebound, were written and recorded while the world was in lockdown during the pandemic. Michael, Kaspar and Jon recorded their parts with long-time producer Jacob Hansen in Denmark, while Rob worked remotely from New York.
“Wait A Minute My Girl” features saxophone player Doug Corcoran and piano player Raynier Jacob Jacildo, who both perform with JD McPherson’s band and previously appeared with Volbeat on 2019’s “Die To Live (feat. Neil Fallon).” Singer Mia Maja, who has worked with the band since Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie, also appears on backing vocals. “Dagen Før” features guest vocals from Danish artist Stine Bramsen, who is known for her solo work as well as being a member of the band Alphabeat. The song, in the tradition of “The Garden’s Tale,” “Maybele I Hofteholder” and “For Evigt,” features both English and Danish lyrics, and marks the first commercially-released song that features Stine singing in her native Danish.
Since forming in 2001, Volbeat has gone from the clubs of Copenhagen to headlining stages around the world, including the famed Telia Parken stadium in Denmark (and becoming the only domestic artist to ever sell out the venue). Over the course of eight record-breaking albums the band has picked up number one songs (including eight #1s on the US Mainstream Rock chart and counting), multi-platinum certifications, awards and accolades (including a Grammy nomination) all over the planet. Their latest album, Rewind, Replay, Rebound, was released on August 2nd, 2019 and has spawned the hit singles “Last Day Under The Sun,” “Die To Live (feat. Neil Fallon)” and “Leviathan.” A live album featuring songs recorded during the subsequent world tour, Rewind, Replay, Rebound: Live in Deutschland, was released digitally on November 27th, 2020. A vinyl-only bonus track compilation, Hokus Bonus, was originally made available on limited-edition vinyl on RSD Black Friday 2020 and will be available in a new, limited European version and a North American standard version this Summer and are available for pre-order at volbeat.dk.
OFF! DEBUT NEW LINEUP ON FIRST NEW RECORDING IN SEVEN YEARS, COVER “HOLIER THAN THOU” FOR THE METALLICA BLACKLIST
PUNK SUPERGROUP SIGN TO FAT POSSUM FOR FUTURE RELEASES AND BACK CATALOG REISSUES
OFF! photo by Jeff Forney
OFF!, the punk braintrust formed in 2010 by Keith Morris (ex-Black Flag, Circle Jerks) and Dimitri Coats (ex-Burning Brides), have just shared their first new recording in seven years: a cover of Metallica’s “Holier Than Thou” slated for official release on September 10th as part of The Metallica Blacklist, a compilation spanning 53 artists covering songs from The Black Album. The recording marks the debut of the band’s powerful new rhythm section: bassist Autry Fulbright II (...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead) and drummer Justin Brown (Thundercat, Herbie Hancock). The injection of new energy into the band’s signature high-anxiety hardcore is palable and volatile, adding a new swing to the music’s incendiary thrust. “Holier Than Thou” arrives in conjunction with a music video starring David Yow (Jesus Lizard), Angelo Moore (Fishbone), and Derrick Beckles (TV Carnage).
The band have also just signed to the meticulously curated indie powerhouse Fat Possum, who are planning a full reissue of the band’s back catalog for later this year. Meanwhile OFF! are continuing to work on a plethora of projects, including their first studio album with the new lineup and their long-planned sci-fi feature film. Much more to come.
