GWAR’s “Disc With No Name” Out Now
unnamed-2.png

GWAR’s latest opus “Disc With No Name,” is out today on Pit Records. The band worked tirelessly on this acoustic masterpiece during last year’s “GWARantine,” and it is finally available for puny pathetic human ears.

Blóthar the Berserker says “When Sleazy P. Martini suggested we do something “unplugged” I was confused. It took me forever to get it plugged in the first place. Turns out he wanted us to record a few GWAR tunes, stripped down to chords, harmony and emotion. Now that I understand what’s going on, I’m thrilled with the project. I was finally able to release my inner Joni Mitchell. I swallowed her years ago, and she’s been living in my belly ever since.”

More breaking GWAR news; the band’s new Ragnarök Rye is available in stores today.

Stay tuned for more info from GWAR including updates on new music and fall touring plans.

“The Disc With No Name” Tracklisting:

2. Gonna Kill You (Acoustic)

Side B:

GLASS ANIMALS RELEASE TOKYO DRIFTING (OLIVER MALCOLM REMIX)
unnamed-4.jpg

As parts of the US welcome the first heat wave of the summer, Glass Animals continue to make waves across the globe, having recently performed at the Billboard Music Awards (watch here), released the formidable ‘Space Ghost Coast To Coast’ featuring Bree Runway, collaborated with cult Peanut Butter brand Jackpot to raise money for Music Venues Trust, announced their upcoming Good Morning America Summer Concert Series performance on July 20th, hit #15 at Top 40 radio and today, the critically acclaimed British band drop the remix of ‘Tokyo Drifting’ with Oliver Malcolm.

Oliver Malcolm is the rising artist and producer who taught himself how to produce from the age of 12 – having worked with the likes of IDK, Aluna George, Joey Bada$$, Jay Rock, Masego, Tinashe and more. Glass Animal’s frontman Dave Bayley invited Oliver onto his inimitable ‘Cereal Bars’ series, having heard the remix by chance and realizing it deserved its own release. On ‘Cereal Bars’, Dave creates beats while his favourite up-and-coming artists write lyrics in the theme of sugary treats, previously starring BENEE and Easy Life’s Murray. The series has pulled in fans from across the globe and is a testament to Dave’s remarkable production talent.

Sublime Celebrates 25th Anniversary of Iconic Self-Titled Album
unnamed (2).jpg

Southern California’s reggae-punk pioneers Sublime are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their iconic self-titled album that spawned timeless hits like “What I Got,” “Santeria,” and “Wrong Way.” Fans can expect numerous special releases, events and new merch to celebrate the 25th anniversary, including a virtual plaque ceremony to commemorate over 18 million in album consumption in the U.S. according to MRC, limited-edition AleSmith Sublime Mexican Lager cans, a graphic novel by Z2 Comics called SUBLIME: $5 At the Door, new music videos for “Garden Grove” and “Pawn Shop” and much more.

Plaques will be presented to commemorate over 18 million in album consumption in the U.S. according to MRC to Sublime members drummer Bud Gaugh, bassist Eric Wilson and vocalist Bradley Nowell, which will be accepted on his behalf by widow Troy DenDekker and son Jakob Nowell. The presentation will be available to stream on YouTube.

Sublime partnered with Z2 Comics to create SUBLIME: $5 AT THE DOOR, a graphic novel that will be released in standard soft and hardcover editions in comic shops and bookstores alike in June 2021. Featuring brand-new cover artwork by SUBLIME family members OPIE ORTIZ and DJ PRODUCT ©1969, a

special deluxe edition and highly limited super deluxe edition are available for preorder now exclusively through the Z2 website. Deluxe and super deluxe edition include a special first-time vinyl edition of the “Doin’ Time” EP, unavailable elsewhere, as well as exclusive prints, Lou-Dog toy and more!

AleSmith Brewing Company has released a batch of limited-edition cans of Sublime Mexican Lager featuring the new artwork from the band’s OG sun artist, Opie Ortiz that’s also featured on the cover of the graphic novel. Fans can get their hands on these limited-release 19.2oz. cans at the AleSmith Tasting Room and select retailers in California.

Official music videos for fan favorites “Garden Grove” and “Pawn Shop” to be released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Sublime (Gasoline Alley/MCA/UMe) and can be viewed here: https://sublime.lnk.to/25thAnniversary. The “Garden Grove” video was shot as a “love letter” to the Long Beach lifestyle featuring the faces and places of LBC, showcasing all of the different people Sublime’s music brings together. The “Pawn Shop” video is animated in the style of psychedelic-surfer-punk-graffiti, inspired by late-night edgy animations with Sublime’s iconography morphing throughout.

Travis Barker will produce covers, remixes and collaborate with artists of all genres to reimagine various Sublime songs from the iconic self-titled album.

"We're not trying to write punk rock. We're not trying to write reggae. We're not trying to write ska," Sublime's Bradley Nowell told KROQ in 1995. "We're just trying to write a good song." They did exactly that—time and time again. "What I Got," "Santeria," "Wrong Way," and "Doin' Time" remain innovative staples from the '90s alternative boom. But they accomplished even more: In less than a decade within the national limelight, the laid-back Long Beach trio spawned an entire genre—fusing reggae grooves, punk grittiness, ska energy, back porch folk introspection, and hip-hop swagger. Decades after the tragic death of singer-songwriter Bradley Nowell, Sublime remain an institution: They've sold over 18 million albums to date; and their merchandise, emblazoned with the iconic sun logo, dominates sales at retailers including Target, Urban Outfitters and Spencer Gifts. Most importantly, the music remains timeless—a rite of passage for misfit listeners who refuse to color within the lines of conventional genre.

unnamed.png

Atlanta's dim delivers an energetic and emotional pop-rock sound that feels like a sucker punch to your heart.

Featuring singer Matt Mulkey (Young Mountain, MOLEKEY, ex-Woe Is Me), drummer Ben Cato (ex-The Dangerous Summer), and guitarists Nick LowryCharlie Pinkard - dim have come together to be “the light into the dawn” during the confusion and chaos of this modern world.

The band's emotional new song "home is where you are" follows on the heels of their previous single "Start Over Again." and "Break You Down."

Mulkey says, “The music video is about the search, the questioning, what goes on when you lose someone close,” dim’s Matt Mulkey tells HollywoodLife. “Yet, when you stop to look around and take it all in, you see the signs they leave for you and notice them within the beauty of everything. Their love and your home, is right where you are – it’s never gone, it’s always there within you.”

Kara Connolly Releases Enchanting Video for Alt-Pop Single “Something More”
unnamed.jpg

After dropping her debut independent album in 2019, LA-based singer-songwriter Kara Connolly is back withSomething Moreand something different—a dreamy, 90s flared alt-pop anthem. The official video for the track is streaming on SPIN Magazine today as their exclusive "Video of the Day".

Despite being a wholly independent, self-supported artist, singer-songwriter Kara Connolly ended 2019 nominated for two Hollywood Music in Media Awards (Best Independent Music Video and Best Message Song/Social Impact), on the first-round GRAMMY® ballot for “Best Pop Vocal” album, and ranked in industry insider Music Connection Magazine’s December issue as one of their Top 4 Unsigned Artists/New Music Critiques of the year. The publication wrote, “...when the artist’s voice is this good and her material is both eloquent and commercial, the results are unquestionably label-ready.” Kara had just released her very first record Life in Rear View to sold-out shows at LA hotspots such as The Hotel Cafe and Interscope’s The Peppermint Club, as well as rave reviews in tastemaker publications praising her “infectious,” “unabashedly addictive” and “honest” writing, “powerful” storytelling sensibilities, “gorgeous tone and vibrato,” “relatable” and “invitingly open-hearted” presence, creative visuals, and “empowering” perspective. Needless to say, her devoted supporters (or “Karakeets” as they have so proudly claimed their fandom) had a lot to tweet about.

Now, Kara is back with “Something More” and something different. Our first introduction into the latest world Kara has created, "Something More" is a 90s flared alt-pop anthem full of lush instrumentation, a soaring, feel-good chorus, introspective, yet imaginative lyrics, beautiful, layered vocals, and dreamy swells of effects-laden electric guitar, bringing us hope—for a better world and a brand new Kara Connolly record on the horizon.

unnamed-3.jpg

Our first introduction into the latest world Kara has created, "Something More," is full of lush instrumentation, a soaring, feel-good chorus, introspective, yet imaginative lyrics, beautiful, layered vocals, and dreamy swells of effects-laden electric guitar. Its accompanying music video drops us (and Kara) into an enchanting, vibrant, magical forest, complete with mystical visual effects.

Kara says, "I’m so excited to share my new music video for my song “Something More.” This video was a labor of love in the middle of a pandemic. The idea initially stemmed from the fact that we were all stuck inside for so long. Thinking on what was possible during this crazy time we decided that a solo video in an expansive forest was the way to go, not only in keeping with safety measures but also reflecting on the concept of the song itself. The lyrics are pretty introspective and imaginative so I wanted to take you into another world beyond these four walls, which could either be very literal as in the walls of your apartment or those of your own mind and thought patterns. Whether it’s interpreted as a dream, a psychedelic “trip,” or some magical transportation to another dimension, I wanted to explore the classic concept that the “Something More” I’ve been searching for was within me all along. I just had to wake up and remember my magic. I think that applies to all of us. I hope this video inspires you to remember your own magic and power. It’s easy to forget or overlook, but I promise you, it’s there.”

Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible is produced to dazzling effect by renowned frontman and visionary Rou Reynolds from a band at the peak of their creative output with a unique story, underlining their 13-year succession as a pioneering and uncompromising musical force. This is an album about possibility, the unnerving irony of endless possibility, the band asking themselves what they can achieve as the world questions “what is possible?”.

Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible is a lucid soundtrack for a new decade, with a poignant social commentary that expertly leads the listener from pure pop to scorching punk-rock fury, through four-to-the-floor beats and beautiful orchestral composition. "Waltzing Off The Face Of The Earth" (I. Crescendo) and (II. Plangevole) draws you into the madness of modern life, “you can’t trust your own eyes, and you only hear lies, our future’s been denied and there’s nowhere to hide now that nothing is true and everything is possible.” "Elegy For Extinction" is a classical gem recorded in Prague with the City Of Prague Symphony Orchestra and arranged by renowned film and television soundtrack composer George Fenton (Gandhi, Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Groundhog Day, My Name Is Joe), and the first single "{ The Dreamers Hotel }"  a lavishly produced anthem.

The last decade has seen Enter Shikari increase their stature year on year, a rare career story which has taken them to four Top 10 albums in the UK, millions of streams, huge sellout world tours (most recently in Russia and two American), as well as multiple awards: last year crowned Best British Band by Rocksound, with Best Album from Kerrang! for The Spark at 2018’s Awards.
