Ice Spice + 4 commercial breaks at The Fillmore Detroit

I was really looking forward to seeing Ice Spice live, but unfortunately, the concert at The Fillmore Detroit on 8/8/24 was a huge letdown. The show felt more like a commercial than a concert. There were so many ads played throughout the event that they seemed to last as long as the actual performance. They had ads before and after her opener. it felt a bit silly at one point.

It’s clear that she’s become more focused on sponsorships and making money than giving her fans a genuine experience. I expected a night filled with great music and energy, but instead, I left feeling like I had wasted my time and money.

Once she did start preforming she played great and actually rapped unlike most musicians these days. A highlight of her performance for me was “Deli” and her verse in the PinkPantheress song “Boys a Liar pt 2”. My favorite part of the whole show was her giant Inflatable Ice Spice cartoon. Low Key I want one in my back yard.

Sadly, it seems like Ice Spice has sold out, and her priorities have shifted away from the music that originally made her popular. I won’t be rushing to see her live again anytime soon.
