Blink-182 at Little Caesars Arena
Where do I even start with Blink-182? This band has been more than a consistent part of my life for the last 18 years. It has gotten me through tough times, breaks ups and even helped me make new friends along the way. I have seen the band countless times over the last 10 years. even after all of this time you think my excitement for them would have died down a little but you are wrong. It still felt like the first time seeing them again, from their jokes in between songs to that feeling you get when all of the lights go off in the venue and the show is about to start.
Don’t get me wrong the band was amazing with Matt filling in for Tom as he was showing the world that aliens are real. but it just felt like it was missing its edge Tom is so hard to replace as a front man.
Opening the show was a hardcore band from Baltimore called Turnstile. Let me tell you that this is huge for the hardcore/punk scene it is putting the music of one of the best modern punk bands in front of thousands and thousands of people! So many people will go home after the show and become instant fans! I love this band and it makes me so happy that they are finally getting this opritunity. One thing about Turnstiles show that I did not like was the venue is too big for the crowd to participate. Normally at a Turnstile show people will be jumping off the stage into the crowd. I think I just missed that. I love watching that…. it’s one of my favorite things!
If you were one of the lucky ones that got a ticket to this tour I really hope you enjoy the show as much as I did! And if you are sad you did not get tickets, keep your eyes open they have been releasing more tickets the day of the show!
