SOSMULA RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM 13 SONGS 2 DIE 2 TODAY

Ready to tear the game apart, the most menacing MC in NYC SosMula of City Morgue unleashes his debut album, 13 SONGS 2 DIE 2, today via Hikari Ultra/Republic Records.

Listen to 13 Songs 2 Die 2HERE

Additionally, he uncovered the intense music video for the new single “VINNY ROTTEN” [feat. Kim Dracula]. On the track, gritty production grinds against explosive guttural barks from SosMula before Kim Dracula rolls through with a maniacally wild cameo punctuated by an unnerving melody. The visual brings this lyrical maelstrom to life seamlessly.

He initially preceded this body of work with the insurgent anthem “Criminal,” generating over 1 million cumulative streams and views right out of the gate. On the album, he attracted a powerhouse guest list of fellow disruptors, including Nascar Aloe on “STAIN, Jasian on “CANT FEEL MY FACE,” XanMan on “LIL PSYCHOS, and Brooklyn drill firestarter Bizzy Banks for “WHIP PARKED. Not to mention, his City Morgue brother ZillaKami pulls up for the bold and brutally catchy “BOOGALOO.

Check out the full tracklisting below.

Experience 13 SONGS 2 DIE 2 now! Stay tuned for more from SosMula.

SosMula doesn’t just break the boundaries between genres—he demolishes them beyond all recognition. Originally hailing from São Paulo, he eventually settled in New York, rapping professionally at just 15-years-old. Trouble was never too far behind him though, and after a stint in jail, he linked up with now partner-in-crime ZillaKami on the day he got out. Finding a devilish nook in the middle of metal, trap, rock, and “gangster shit, he owns this realm. City Morgue has accomplished the unprecedented, elevating the underground into the mainstream without losing any grit. After the success of CITY MORGUE VOL. 1 HELL OR HIGHWATER, the group’s 2019 sophomore set CITY MORGUE VOL. 2: AS GOOD AS DEAD captured the #1 spot on the Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart and #1 on the Apple Music Rock Albums Chart. The 2020 follow-up TOXIC BOOGALOO EP bowed at #96 on the Billboard Top 200, #9 on the Billboard Top Album Sales Chart, #6 on the Billboard Alternative Albums Chart, #13 on the Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart, and #4 on the Nielsen Music Digital Albums Chart. At the same time, they’ve racked up 100 million-plus streams and 100 million-plus views to date. SosMula’s voice has also raged through collaborations with everyone from Denzel Curry to Post Malone signee Clever. With otherworldly allure and downright dangerously potent bars, he makes the alchemy of rap and metal darker than ever.

Asking Alexandria Debut New Single "Alone Again" + Announce New Album

BRITISH ROCK BAND ASKING ALEXANDRIA

INVITE LISTENERS TO ‘SEE WHAT’S ON THE INSIDE,’

WITH NEW ALBUM SET FOR OCTOBER 1 RELEASE

PRE-ORDER NOW

FIRST SINGLE “ALONE AGAIN” OUT NOW, GIVING FIRST TASTE OF THE BAND’S EMOTIONAL, RAW RETURN TO FORM

image005.png

Acclaimed British rock group Asking Alexandria just announced the October 1 release of their upcoming full-length studio album See What’s On The Inside. The announcement comes fresh off the news of their new global deal with Better Noise Music earlier this year, when they were signed by label president Dan Waite out of the company’s London office. The new album is now available for pre-order and pre-save across platforms HERE.

The band is celebrating the album announcement with the release of first single “Alone Again” today. A raw, emotional, introspective rock anthem, the single was co-written by all five members and offers a fitting first sampling of the full-length LP. Tapping into a renewed sense of creative energy, the band is more aligned than ever and rediscovered their love for songwriting and making music together during the recording sessions for this album. “Alone Again” and an extended “Intro” for the song are now available to stream and download across platforms HERE.  A striking lyric video for “Alone Again” is available to view HERE.

Of the single, the new album and the new chapter with Better Noise, founding member and lead guitarist Ben Bruce said, “‘Alone Again’ and the rest of this album is the result of us reconnecting and falling back in love with why we started this band in the first place. No frills or cheap tricks, just the five of us playing our instruments as hard and as loud as we can! At some point in our lives, we all feel lost and confused as to who we are and who we want to be, and I think this song will really unite all of us in that sense. We are so excited to share, not only this new song with you all, but our new album. We went back to our roots as musicians and really wanted to reignite that passion and love for rock and metal music. Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Aerosmith, AC/DC….all the greats that we fell in love with as kids have greatly influenced this new album and we couldn’t be more excited!”

As the band prepares to put this new body of work out into the world, reintroducing themselves as a creative collective armed with a new sense of clarity and purpose, they will also be reconnecting with fans on the road. Earlier this month, they were announced to join A Day To Remember on their “Re-Entry Tour” throughout North America. The tour kicks off on September 28 in Rochester, NY, and goes until November 6 in St. Augustine, FL. See full list of dates below. The band will also be playing at a select list of key festivals this fall.

Movements Drop B-Sides 7" Today

MOVEMENTS ANNOUNCE B-SIDES RELEASE + YOU CAN GET IT RIGHT NOW!

Southern California's MOVEMENTS have released their B-sides 7" today, August 20, via Fearless Records. Get it here.

It includes two new tracks — "Panic" and "No Silhouette."

The 7" comes in two configurations: Grape Candy Purple, limited to 500 copies, and Coke Bottle Clear, limited to 500 copies.

Both songs were recorded during the sessions for the band's most recent album, No Good Left to Give, described as a "step forward for the band" by Brooklyn Vegan. These tracks ultimately didn't make the final cut at the time but Movements knew they wanted to release them into world eventually.

And that time is now.

Singer Pat Miranda explains how these tracks factored into the band's overall creative process, sharing, "Back in 2017, when we went into the studio to record Feel Something, we only showed up with 7 or 8 songs ready to go. We were pressed for time to finish writing four more songs in the studio in order to finish the record. A few years later, when we went into the writing process for No Good Left To Give, we decided to be overly prepared for the studio in order to maximize production time."

He furthers, "The four of us spent almost a year writing and tracking demos to bring with us to the studio, and throughout that process, we ended up writing about 18 songs. This allowed us to get into the studio, go over everything we had, and trim down the record to the songs that we felt were the absolute best. We ended up recording 14 songs, but only putting 12 on the record. The two songs that didn't make the cut were 'Panic' and 'No Silhouette,' and we're stoked to finally be able to release these songs to the public."

Regarding 'Panic,' Miranda shares that the song felt similar to other Movements material and that the "overall feeling and message of the song was one we'd already put out in other songs," and that's why it was left off the album. Still, it remained a band favorite. He explains, "The goal of NGLTG was to feel fresh and new, and 'Panic' is a song that felt like more of an extension of our previous music instead of a progression. That being said, we all love this song! It's upbeat, catchy, and feels fun, but the lyricism gives a different message. The song explores the ins and outs of living in a constant state of anxiety. We talk about the idea that worry, stress, anxiety attacks — although mostly uncontrollable — almost become a habit and something that feels impossible to break."

When it comes to "No Silhoutte," Miiranda says, "That was a song that we felt just didn't stand up to the sonic environment of the rest of the record. It's slightly more 'poppy' than the rest of the music. We felt it might feel unrelated to the overall theme of the record so we decided to leave it off. The song itself addresses the loss of a loved one from the perspective of someone on the outside of the situation. It's about watching someone you love lose someone that they love, and being there with them through it all. The idea was 'If you're going through hell, I'm coming with you.'"

Movements are intimately involved in curating the artwork, imaging, branding, and videos for all of their releases — and the B-sides effort was no different.

"The album art for NGLTG was a series of photos taken by our touring photographer and dear friend Anthony Purcella," Miranda says. "Inspired by collages made from vintage magazine clippings, we chose to take photos of two subjects, and then rip them up and glue them together to create visually interesting pieces of artwork."

Miranda continues, "The NGLTG album art is very bright and bold. We wanted to maintain a similar theme for art with the B-sides, but decided to approach it with the opposite mood in mind. Having the collage aspects still seen throughout the B-side art was important to us, but we wanted it to feel darker, more moody, and intense-looking. The photos we used are from the same shoot as the original photos, but we specifically chose the shots that shared a similar feeling. They feel more lonely and cold. Creating that contrast between the album and the B-sides helps define the separation. They’re meant to be connected, but distant at the same time."

Last fall, Clayton received unimaginable news when doctors diagnosed him with glioblastoma, an aggressive and terminal form of brain cancer. After reading his story and finding out he is a huge fan of Pierce the Veil, Living The Dream Foundation couldn't wait to make his virtual #DREAMDAY come true. Vic Fuentes played some of his favorite PTV songs, arranged for Tony Perry (guitar player) to hop on the Zoom for a surprise, and invited Clayton to be their special guest next time the band plays in his city. From date nights to a recent trip to see friends and family for the first time since COVID to their radiating positive attitude, they truly encompass what it means to be Living The Dream every day regardless of life's challenges.

In other LTDF news, Space Zebra co-founder Bobby Schubenski (also of Blackcraft Cult) will celebrate his birthday with an all-day event streamed live on the DWPresents Twitch feed from The Musician's Institute. All proceeds from the stream will benefit Living The Dream Foundation.

Fans can expect special guest appearances by musicians, artists, sports figures, and various other celebrities, as well as some live performances, and even a battle of the bands. Confirmed participants thus far include: M. LORDE RETURNS WITH SOLAR POWER
unnamed-20.jpg

Today, GRAMMY® Award-winning multiplatinum artist LORDE releases her highly anticipated third studio album,Solar Power – listen HERE. The album is already garnering stellar reviews. Solar Power includes 12 tracks and is produced by Jack Antonoff who she collaborated with on her chart-topping last album, Melodrama.

The artist will take to the stage today to headline the “GMA” Summer Concert Series, performing tracks from the album at their first in-person Central Park show in nearly two years. Then starting August 23rd, LORDE will join “The Late Late Show with James Corden” for a week-long residency during the show’s first week back from summer hiatus.

“As Solar Power meditates on the tension between achievement and comfort, it grazes masterpiece status—the only thing holding it back may be Lorde’s disinterest in chasing accolades.” – The Atlantic

“She’s so great at this, so convincing and smart, you’ll feel yourself falling under Solar Power’s spell ... She may not be our deity anymore, but in the world of pop music, Lorde’s ability to make moving art is everlasting.” – i-D

“At 24, Lorde is already a de facto elder stateswoman of the female-centered sound she helped pioneer: a nameless genre somewhere between high-gloss pop and indie rock, untroubled by the stringent rules of Hot 100 radio.” – Entertainment Weekly

“Solar Power is a lot of things, but more than anything, it sounds like true autonomy.” – The Cut

Of the album Lorde says, “The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalizing the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors. In times of heartache, grief, deep love, or confusion, I look to the natural world for answers. I’ve learned to breathe out, and tune in. This is what came through.”

To honor the natural world the artist is presenting the album in a first-of-its kind, discless format. An eco-conscious Music Box will be available for purchase as an alternative to a CD. This innovative offering will contain extra visual content, handwritten notes, exclusive photos, and a download card. The card will give purchasers a high-quality download of the music, two exclusive bonus tracks, and access to some special surprises along the way.

When talking about the concept Lorde says, “I decided early on in the process of making this album that I also wanted to create an environmentally kind, forward-thinking alternative to the CD. I wanted this Music Box product to be similar in size, shape and price to a CD, to live alongside it in a retail environment, but be something which stands apart and that’s committed to the evolving nature of a modern album.”

Earlier this summer, Lorde announced her 2022 World tour dates. The sold-out 40+ show tour, promoted by AEG Presents in the US and Canada, is her first North American tour since 2018 and kicks off in North America in Nashville on April 3 at the Opry House before concluding at the Santa Barbara Bowl on May 7.

Waterparks Release Music Video for "The Secret Life of Me"

Today, Waterparks release the music video for "The Secret Life of Me" off their latest album, Greatest Hits. Directed by Erik Rojas & frontman Awsten Knight, the music video takes on a glitchy and saturated style to create an all-around captivating visual that portrays the song's theme of dissociation and escaping reality.

Waterparks recently released their long-awaited fourth album Greatest Hits which features notable singles "Just Kidding", "You'd Be Paranoid Too (If Everyone Was Out To Get You)", "Numb" and "Snow Globe". The Greatest Hits release marked a brand new era for the band and they have plenty more up their sleeves! The guys are gearing up for a headline tour, A NIGHT OUT ON EARTH TOUR FEAT WATERPARKS, which kicks off this fall (get tickets HERE)

ABOUT WATERPARKS:

Waterparks never sit still. The Houston trio—Awsten Knight [vocals, guitar], Otto Wood [drums], and Geoff Wigington [guitar]—manically move forward, shucking and jiving between fits of rock, alternative, and electronic with pop ambition and hip-hop’s bold and blatant disregard for the rules. As they usher in the Greatest Hits era, the band only pick up the pace. Waterparks has garnered a cult following for their animated musical stylings. 2019’s FANDOM elevated them to new critical and commercial peaks. Marking a series of career bests, it landed at #2 on the Billboard Top Alternative Albums Chart, granting their first Top 40 debut on the Billboard Top 200. KERRANG! rated it “KKKK” and MTV admitted, “We have no choice but to stan.” As the band nears 400 million cumulative streams to date, it yielded fan favorites, including 'I Miss Having Sex But At Least I Don’t Wanna Die Anymore,' 'Turbulent,' and 'Watch What Happens Next.'

COI LERAY DROPS NEW SINGLE “OKAY YEAH”

Raising the bar yet again for her breakout year, Platinum superstar Coi Leray unveils a new single entitled “Okay Yeah” today. Listen to “Okay Yeah

Once again, her claws come out with highly quotable and hyper catchy bars before she ignites another chantable chorus. “Okay Yeah” pops off as her latest anthem. The song also notably features on the blockbuster Madden 22 in-game and on the Official Soundtrack Album.

It arrives in the wake of her recent banger “At The Top” [feat. Kodak Black & Mustard]. To date, it has racked up over 4.2 million streams and earned widespread praise. UPROXX highlighted “variety of flows from the lilting melody of the hook to a Playboi Carti-esque, clipped cadence at the beginning of her verse,” and The Source assured “Coi Leray is keeping her hot streak going.” HotNewHipHop put it best, “she's only concerned with things that will help her ‘elevate,’ and she's stuck to her word.” Not to mention, she stands out as among this year’s coveted XXL “Freshman Class.”

Coi shows no signs of stopping or slowing down. In 2021, she served up “Bout Me.” Receiving critical acclaim, Complex praised her integration of “of pop and hip-hop worlds, with her oscillating between staccato raps and warbling, auto-tuned vocals,” and Hip Hop Weekly noted she “keeps the hits coming.”

It followed closely on the heels of the blockbuster music video for “BIG PURR (Prrd).” Right out of the gate, it racked up 1.7 million views in less than a week. HipHopDX raved, “One of 2021’s hottest collaborations has an even hotter video to match its Billboard-blazing hype,” and UPROXX put it best, “Coi Leray’s 2021 is off to a fantastic start.” It’s already amassed over 40 million total streams and counting.

Since its release, “BIG PURR (Prrd)” has spawned 660K-plus videos on TikTok with nearly 50 million views. The song has also charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and Rolling Stone Top 100 songs charts, where it continues to climb. Its predecessor “No More Parties” picked up her first gold plaque from the RIAA and scaled the Billboard Hot 100, where it’s ascending the top 30. It soundtracked nearly 500k videos on TikTok with over 71.5 million views. The “No More Parties (Remix)” music video remains in the Top 10 most watched videos on VEVO and a fixture in mtvU’s rotation.

Coi also made her television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with a performance of “No More Parties.”

Accelerating her rapid rise, Coi holds a spot in the Top 5 of the Billboard Emerging Artists chart and on Rolling Stone’s Breakthrough 25. Additionally, Billboard christened her the “R&B/Hip-Hop Rookie of the Month.” Continuing her takeover, she spoke to Complex and In The Know about “first date style” and unveiled how to make hot banana pudding on the fan favorite original content series Cooking with Coi Leray. She also graced the lineup of Rolling Loud in Miami on July 24.  What’s more, Coi has received public support from industry heavy weights such as DrakeMegan The StallionCardi B and CityGirlsJT & Yung Miami.

Written and recorded during late 2020 and early 2021, "Checkered Past" sees Tracii Guns, Phil Lewis, and company continuing with the darker lyrical tone of the preceding studio albums, "The Devil You Know" and "The Missing Peace", while incorporating their classic rock influences into the mix. Heavier songs are mixed with bluesier, boogie inducing tracks and dark, introspective ballads, often harkening back to the first three albums the band made, but also pushing the band forward. When fans absorb the album as a whole, they'll see that the tracklisting is divided up into 'sets' or 'suites', where a sonic style is explored across multiple songs before moving on to the next, making for a remarkable listening experience.

Feeling inspired and excited like they did when they first started out, but with many years of wisdom and experience under their belts, and most importantly, a renewed and stronger creative and personal relationship, Guns and Lewis are maintaining a creative peak that started with "The Missing Peace". "Checkered Past" shows a band invigorated and ready to bash you over the head, as well as “wow” you with some epic, slower songs, and even make you dance a bit to some rock 'n roll.

Since their self-titled debut in 1988 to the widely praised comeback albums "The Missing Peace" and "The Devil You Know", L.A. GUNS, led by Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis have always delivered solid rock ‘n roll to their fans. This current incarnation of the band has been touring non-stop, with a notable break coinciding with all other touring bands, and the cohesiveness of the unit, not to mention Phil’s stunning and unique vocals and Guns’ mind-bending guitar playing, are on full display here. A must hear and listen for all fans of the band, both new and old.

L.A. Guns never looked like the pretty poster boys that so many of their peers did, but more the band that you would be terrified to bump into in an alley as they would likely be carrying switchblades and ready for a fight. But despite having many songs to back up that image, the band could also write powerful ballads (see the smash hit, “The Ballad Of Jayne” for Exhibit A of this argument) that showed there were some serious songwriting chops in the band. Those chops are on full display on the band's two most recent studio albums and the upcoming new album, "Checkered Past," arguably one of the most vital and exciting releases in the band’s catalog.
