Today, rising global pop icon Elyanna announces her highly-anticipated debut album titled, Woledto, out April 12 via Universal Arabic Music. Woledto marks the rebirth of Elyanna, revealing a new layer of her artistry and sonic expression. Woledto, translating to "I am born," speaks volumes about the rebirth and renewal embedded within the music - while also showcasing the Palestinian-Chilean artist’s new chapter, as she steps into global stardom. “This album is my debut album ‘Woledto’ and it lives in its own world. It’s something I’ve never heard before, yet it feels nostalgic. It holds so much culture,and it’s Spanish inspired with a touch of tribal fusion,” says Elyanna. As Elyanna continues to push boundaries and redefine contemporary music, Woledto stands as a testament to her unwavering dedication to her heritage and her role as a cultural trailblazer.
This month, Elyanna graced the cover of VOGUE Arabia, following her February cover of Billboard Arabia, solidifying her status as a rising star in the global music landscape.
In celebration of Arab Heritage Month, Elyanna will headline a special show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on April 27th, followed by a headlining show at KOKO in London on May 6th. These events promise to be immersive experiences, where Elyanna's mesmerizing performances will pay homage to her cultural heritage by seamlessly integrating Arabic elements such as traditional instruments, belly dancing, dabke, and more – giving her fans the ultimate experience by portraying the beauty of Middle Eastern culture.
Elyanna's commitment to her roots is evident not only in her music but also in her visuals. In her latest music video “Al Sham”, symbolism intertwines with storytelling as motifs like evil eyes, Arabian swords, and golden hearts add depth to the narrative. Collaborating closely with her inner circle, including her sister Tali Marjieh, her best friend Merey Naddour, and her brother Feras (p/k/a Fairdose), Elyanna brings her vision to life with authenticity and passion.
Earlier this year, Elyanna achieved an impressive feat –selling out her debut North American Tour, where her performance served “as a refreshing reminder of the power of genuine artistry”.
