Celtic punks The Rumjacks have just released their new 'Brass For Gold'EP, just 11 days before kicking off their U.S. tour as support for Dropkick Murphys.

The follow-up to their critically acclaimed and commercially successful 2021 fifth studio album 'Hestia' (which introduced new singer/songwriter Mike Rivkees on lead vocals and rejuvenated the band's collaborative spirit, and marked an explosive new era of energy and creative release), 'Brass for Gold' finds The Rumjacks capitalizing off their new sense of artistry.

“After the amazing response we had from Hestia’s release, we knew we had to back it up, do it justice and show we aren’t messing around with any of this,” says bassist Johnny McKelvey.

The Rumjacks will follow up their dates with Dropkick Murphys with their own U.S. headline tour, which kicks off in May, giving their fans in the States several opportunities to see them live. European dates were also announced this week for March/April.

Detroit legend and fast-rising rapper Babyface Ray is releasing a new album FACE this Friday via Wavy Gang / EMPIRE and today he’s released full details for the highly anticipated full length. Features on the album include Pusha T, G Herbo, 42 Dugg, Wiz Khalifa, Icewear Vezzo, Yung Lean and Landstrip Chip with production from 808 Mafia, DJ Esco, OG Parker, Romano, ATL Jacob and more. Today he’s released a song strictly for the streets called “Sincerely Face.” Ray dropped a clip of the song late last year immediately igniting widespread inquiry as to when the full thing would be released. The Weeknd has officially announced his next album, Dawn FM, set to arrive on Friday, January 7th. Alongside a trailer for the project and the reveal of the album cover earlier today, The Weeknd announced that the “sonic experience” will feature Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, Quincy Jones, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Jim Carrey.

As a part of the rollout, The Weeknd will appear in “103.5 Dawn FM”, a live stream experience which will air exclusively on the Amazon Music channel on Twitch and in the Amazon Music app beginning at 9 p.m. PST on January 6th. As a New Year’s gift to fans, Swedish House Mafia have unveiled a new symphonic rework of their enduring classic “One” in collaboration with Jacob Mühlrad. The “One Symphony” was recomposed by the celebrated Swedish art music composer, whom the group tapped for the collaboration on the strength of his meteoric rise in the global modern classical scene, including his substantial choral work Time (2018), the recording of which was issued in 2021 on Deutsche Grammophon as part of his debut album, making him only the second Swede to ever be published by legendary classical music label. He received 5 out of 5 stars for the Time album by BBC Music Magazine during summer 2021, and was called “one the world’s best, most imaginative, orchestral composers” by Under The Radar. “Having Jacob’s world meet ours has always been on our minds,” state Swedish House Mafia. “His interpretation of ‘One’ is absolutely incredible and we are so happy to finally release it to the world.”

"I felt very inspired and honored when I received the commission,” states Mühlrad. “My starting point in writing ‘One Symphony’ was to use the beautiful simplicity of the main melody originally written as a downward scale movement within the interval of a 5th. The 5th is an interval that exists in all musical traditions in the world. I felt an urge to keep trying to keep the gesture both rhythmically and melodically and vary it as much as possible. At some point the music took over my concept and ‘One Symphony’ revealed itself." Among his forthcoming works is a new choir piece commissioned by an acclaimed choir from every continent of the world (except the Arctic). The piece is called Pi and the 100 first decimals of the number, a mathematical constant, is being set to music in Mühlrad’s new piece.

The “One Symphony” release kicks off what promises to be a landmark year for Swedish House Mafia, who initiated a highly anticipated reunion last year with a trio of new singles (their collaboration with The Weekend “Moth To A Flame,” “Lifetime (ft. Ty Dolla $ign & 070 Shake),” and “It Gets Better”), a Billboard cover story, a highly artful performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and the announcement of an international tour for 2022, marking their first proper run since 2012 (see full dates below).
