Memphis May Fire Share Official "Somebody" Video

MEMPHIS MAY FIRE SHARE OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR "SOMEBODY"

MEMPHIS MAY FIRE Matty Mullins (vocals), Kellen McGregor (guitar), Cory Elder (bass), and Jake Garland (drums) — have spent the past several months thrilling their dedicated legion by dropping four new tracks, all released via longtime label Rise Records.

Today, the band is releasing the official video for the fourth (and latest) single "Somebody."

Watch it here.

The song boasts crunchy riffing, crackling electronics, and the kind of chorus that will find you singing along and finger pointing. Meanwhile, the video is driven by intense performance footage and intimate closeups of the band, bathed in fire and ice tones.

"The response to our latest single 'Somebody' has been unreal, so we decided to shoot a music video for it to tell the story even further," says Mullins. "We teamed up with director Dustin Haney and we couldn't be more stoked on how it turned out."

Earlier this year, Memphis May Fire dropped a one-two punch with a pair of explosive songs — "Blood & Water" and "Death Inside." The full-on riff fest "Bleed Me Dry" followed suit. "Blood & Water" is one of the fastest growing hits of the band's career. It was accompanied by a powerful video and cruised onto the SiriusXM Octane airwaves. Revolver called it a "return to form" and noted that the song boasted an "absurdly melodic lead lick that cuts through the chugging breakdowns like a hot knife on butter." Meanwhile, "Death Inside" reminded fans of the band's sonic heft and was evidence of why Memphis May Fire have remained one of the scene's standouts. The latest song, "Somebody," features all the sonic hallmarks fans know and love about MMF.

All told, the four new tracks have accumulated 23 million combined streams across platforms. Each song release has also been accompanied by a charity-driven t-shirt, as the band is passionate about giving back and supporting its local community.

Memphis May Fire are poised to have a big 2022. More new music and touring is on the horizon, so standby!

Taylor Swift has made history once again presenting the definitive version of her 2012 classic, Red (Taylor’s Version). Marking her 10th album to move over 1 Million album equivalents during its release week and arriving to worldwide critical acclaim, Red (Taylor’s Version) adds a brilliant new chapter to her legacy.

Red (Taylor’s Version) boasts a staggering 30 songs, including nine previously unreleased tracks – “Better Man (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault),” “Nothing New (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)” [feat. Phoebe Bridgers], “Babe (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault),” “Message in a Bottle (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault),” “I Bet You Think About Me (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)” [feat. Chris Stapleton], “Forever Winter (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault),” “Run (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)” [feat. Ed Sheeran], “The Very First Night (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault), and “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)” [10 Minute Version].

Red (Taylor’s Version) debuted at #1 in the U.S. with total consumption reaching an astounding 605k units, while moving over 1.2 Million album equivalents globally in its first week. It also marked the biggest album sales debut in the U.S. with 369k units and the highest first week sales of any female artist in 2021.

In addition to being the first artist ever to simultaneously debut atop the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100, Taylor has now become the only artist to do so for a third time, and in less than 16 months! Taylor’s new version of “All Too Well” marks her fourth #1 debut on the Billboard Hot 100. Clocking in at over 10 minutes, it is the longest song to enter and reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, surpassing the previous record holder, Don McLean’s “American Pie,” which was first released in 1971 with a run time of 8 minutes and 42 seconds. Red (Taylor’s Version) also sees an astounding 26 songs enter the Billboard Hot 100 this week, all from the new release.

Upon going live, Red (Taylor’s Version) surpassed Spotify’s biggest opening day streams of all-time for a female with over 90 Million, a record previously held by Taylor herself. It’s Taylor’s fifth consecutive album to exceed 50 Million Spotify streams in 24 hours. With over 300 million streams, the album has achieved the largest streaming week of 2021 for an album by a female artist. Red (Taylor’s Version) immediately captured #1 on iTunes Overall Top Albums Chart and Apple Music.

Red (Taylor’s Version) also secured the biggest streaming week for a country album with the largest sales week for a country album since 2013, becoming the biggest release week for a country album since the Billboard 200 began ranking titles by equivalent album units. “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” also hits #1 on the Hot Country Songs chart. It debuts as Swift’s ninth Hot Country Songs leader and her second this year, after “Love Story (Taylor’s Version).”

What’s more, it has achieved the largest vinyl album sales week since tracking first began in 1991 with 114k sold, surpassing the last record that was also set by Taylor in 2021 with folklore’s sister album, evermore. With the release of Red (Taylor’s Version) she also secures the record for fastest accumulation of four #1 albums by a solo artist in history.

Red (Taylor’s Version) debuted at #1 in multiple countries around the world including the U.K.- where she topped first week numbers set by the original version of the album, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and Norway. “All Too Well” also debuted at #1 in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and more.

Taylor Swift now has an unbroken streak of eight consecutive No.1 albums in the UK, where this release marks her fifth #1 album in less than three years following Lover (August 2019), Folklore (August 2020), Evermore (December 2020) and Fearless (Taylor’s Version) (April 2021). Red (Taylor’s Version) has also become her tenth #1 album debut in both Canada and New Zealand, her ninth #1 in Australia and her seventh #1 in Ireland, extending her record as the woman with the most chart-topping albums in these countries for this millennium.

To celebrate the release, Taylor wrote and directed a short film entitled All Too Well The Short Film, inspired by the 10-minute-plus fan favorite song of the same name. The 13-minute film stars Sadie Sink, Dylan O’Brien and Taylor Swift.

BYE BYE, "AMERICAN PIE" AS TAYLOR SWIFT'S 10-MINUTE "ALL TOO WELL" BECOMES LONGEST #1 HIT

Don McLean To Make Appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert TONIGHT!

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Don McLean’s “American Pie,” has been replaced by Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well,” as the longest #1 hit of all time. “American Pie,” which lasted 8:42 held that rank for nearly 50 years since it first landed on the charts in January 1972. Swift’s “All Too Well,” is timed out at 10:13!

“There is something to be said for a great song that has staying power,” says McLean. “American Pie’ remained on the top for 50 years and now Taylor Swift has unseated such a historic piece of artistry. Let’s face it, nobody ever wants to lose that #1 spot, but if I had to lose it to somebody, I sure am glad it was another great singer/songwriter such as Taylor.”

McLean is celebrating the 50th anniversary of “American Pie” and recently announced parts of the European leg of his world tour. North American dates will be announced in the coming weeks. “American Pie” is currently featured in Tom Hank’s new Apple+ movie FINCH as well as the 2021 release of Marvel's Black Widow. McLean received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in August 2021.

OF MONSTERS AND MEN INTERVIEW AND PERFORM ON CBS MORNINGS

This weekend multiplatinum Icelandic collective Of Monsters and Men appeared on CBS Mornings in celebration of their new album My Head Is An Animal (10th Anniversary Edition) where they talked about the story behind their historic rise to becoming one of the world’s most successful Icelandic bands.

Speaking with CBS Mornings correspondent Ben Tracey at Gamla Bíó (where the band held their first album release party back in 2011), co-lead singers Nanna Hilmarsdóttir and Ragnar Þórhallsson reflected about the band’s past ten years together as well as the journey that led them to where they are today- from winning a local Icelandic music competition, to SXSW and more they rose to become one of the first bands from Iceland to hit over 1 billion streams on Spotify. In addition, they performed their new single “Phantoms” as well as their iconic songs “Little Talks” and “Dirty Paws” in celebration of the new anniversary album release.

Continuing the celebration of their anniversary the band recently announced their first and only live shows of 2021 and upcoming livestream shows: Of Monsters and Men: The 10 Year Anniversary Celebration of My Head Is An Animal where they will be performing four intimate shows at Gamla Bíó on November 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th. The album celebrates a decade since the arrival of their platinum-certified debut My Head Is An Animal. The release reflects the version of the album when it was first released in Iceland in 2011. The new version has a total of four tracks that were not on the 2012 US release, including two never-before-released songs: “Phantom” and “Sugar In A Bowl.” The anniversary album is also accompanied by commemorative merchandise, limited-edition vinyl, and a special Of Monsters and Men zine available as a special thank you for fans.

View exclusive merchandise for the anniversary release HERE!

While “Phantom” and “Sugar In A Bowl” are newly recorded songs, they are not new to the band. “Phantom” was first performed by Of Monsters and Men in 2010 at the renowned Músíktilraunir music competition. It was one of the two songs performed when they took home first place in the competition helping to jumpstart their career. The album features another unreleased track entitled “Sugar In A Bowl”—also composed and conceptualized over decade ago but never recorded.

Regarding this moment, the band commented: "It’s been 10 years since the original edition of MHIAA was released in Iceland and because of that we wanted to do something special so we're releasing a 10th anniversary edition of the album as well as performing some fun live, intimate anniversary shows from Iceland from the venue where we played our first album release party ever.

The track list matches the one from that first edition of the album that came out in Iceland in 2011 plus two unreleased bonus tracks that sort of got left behind when making the record.

This album is how most of you got to know us and how we got to know you and for that we are forever grateful.

Thank you to everyone that listened to and supported us this past decade.

Here is to another 10 years!

Love, OMAM"

SILVERSTEIN RELEASE NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO “BANKRUPT” AVAILABLE TODAY VIA UNFD TOURING NORTH AMERICA THIS FALL

Just after celebrating 20 years together, legendary post-hardcore outfit Silverstein hit us with a standout, anthemic new single and video -- “Bankrupt”. Last year’s milestone marked two decades of relentlessly pushing themselves from their underground roots to becoming one of the most influential bands in their scene. As Silverstein set out on their official worldwide 20th Anniversary Tour to celebrate, the Covid-19 pandemic arrived, forcing them, along with so many others, to drop everything and take shelter back in their respective hometowns. As 2020 took a turn to being a horrible time for most, the band were hit with an onslaught of rage as they watched the select few in elevated positions leverage their power, and opportunistically kick us while we were down.

The band took their fury into the studio and continued writing all throughout lockdown -- “Bankrupt” being the first look into those sessions. The track proves the bands’ roots in punk are firm in place. Guitarist and songwriter Paul Marc explains, “I don’t know how to feel anything but rage anymore. The rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer. Wages are stagnant, tuition costs are rising, jobs are being automated/off-shored, costs of a home are laughable in most major cities. The walls feel like they’re closing in and escape is starting to feel impossible. Two-faced leaders and greedy elected officials line their pockets while stripping funding for the programs that we actually need. What are we supposed to do now? Looking out for one another on a community level is good, but changing a crooked system is better.”

“Bankrupt” is available via UNFD across all digital platforms today along with its official video that was directed by long time friend and collaborator, Wyatt Clough. Watch below as Clough captures an explosive performance from the band using mostly 16mm Kodak (Double-X 7222) film.

Silverstein is Shane Told (vocals), Paul Marc Rousseau and Josh Bradford (guitars), Billy Hamilton (bass), Paul Koehler (drums). They are currently set to head back out on the road to finish their 20th Anniversary Tour this fall. All dates are listed below. Twenty-five years after his murder, Tupac Shakur remains one of the most complex and prolific artists of his generation. With over 75 million albums sold worldwide, he is one of the top-selling artists of all time. In 2017, Tupac was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, making him the first solo hip-hop artist to be recognized for inclusion in his first eligible year. Tupac also found success and critical acclaim as an actor, starring in popular films like Juice and Poetic Justice. A brilliant lyricist and critical thinker, Shakur can be described as a social observer and a political activist devoted to social change. Born to a Black Panther and named after a Peruvian revolutionary, Shakur seemed fated to reject authority and give voice to the disenfranchised.

Tupac’s mother and Black Panther Afeni Shakur (1947-2016) played a prominent role in Tupac’s life and her spirit brings a moving and parallel presence to WMWIFTupac’s Godfather and Special Advisor to the Estate Jamal Josephsaid, “Afeni was the baddest Black Woman to walk the planet. She raised awareness and shifted the atmosphere wherever she went. Tupac’s brilliance shined brighter than the Sun. He lived and moved with creative – revolutionary- fearless-passion fueled speed of a comet. Afeni and Pac challenged, re-imagined, and transformed history.”

Part museum, part art installation, part sensory experience, WMWIF will showcase Shakur’s music, poetry and never before seen artifacts in a 20,000 square foot curated space akin to a contemporary art museum. Guests will transition through a myriad of surround sound spaces, rich with rarities embedded in technology. WMWIF will delve into the greater meaning of his activism, music, and revolutionary art. The attendees will be educated and enlightened through a labyrinth of emotions as they take this journey through his extraordinary life.

WMWIF is a creative collaboration led by Chief Curator & Vice President of Curatorial Affairs at The Rock and Roll Hall of FameNwaka Onwusa and award-winning Creative Director Jeremy Hodges and his firm, Project Art Collective"It is a privilege to be a part of such a monumental project”, Hodges said. “Tupac Shakur was my Malcolm; he was my Martin, and to build an experience that honors such a prolific man, cannot be summed up in words. We wanted to create a memorable experience that will inspire you to be better than when you walked in, all while leaving you with the knowledge that he was a true revolutionary spirit."

The Estate sanctioned museum experience, produced in partnership with Round Room Live, CAA, Universal Music Group and Kinfolk Management + Media, is slated to visit a limited number of US and international cities over the next few years.

Additional design support is provided by Perkins&Will and Ralph Appelbaum Associates — two of the world's leading architectural and exhibit design firms who also collaborated on the design for the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington D.C. Ralph Appelbaum Associates is also the exhibit designer for the forthcoming Obama Presidential Center in Chicago.

Steve Berman, Vice Chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records, and an Executive Producer on the show, said: "Tupac Shakur was without a doubt one of the most important artists of his generation, transforming culture through his music and ideas. Wake Me When I'm Free honors Tupac's extraordinary contributions and I know I speak for the entire Interscope and Universal Music Group family that we are so proud to be able to collaborate with our partners to bring this incredible exhibit to life."
