LLUSION RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE “SHUT UP” FEATURING FREDDIE DREDD AND LIL TOE
unnamed-27.jpg

Buzzing artist and producer LLusion continues to make waves online as he returns with a new collaborative single featuring Canadian rapper and producer Freddie Dredd and rapper Lil Toe called “SHUT UP,” out today—listen HERE!

Of the song, LLusion says, “This one means a lot to me. I love when everything comes full circle. The instrumental to ‘Shut Up’ was intended for a remix for TikTok. It became very popular, and all I could think about was ‘imagine Freddie Dredd on this.’ As my thought started to come into fruition, I found out the homie Lil Toe and Freddie never released any songs together, which didn’t make sense to me due to their sonic chemistry. I felt it was of my services to bring everyone together and make a cold and raw smash! So here we are.”

Freddie Dredd adds, “I’m glad to have a track out with the homie LLusion, such a talented producer that I am blessed just to even know, and to have Lil Toe on the track is a treat, I’ve been listening to him for years and now we finally will have a song out. Very excited.”

“SHUT UP” follows LLusion’s 2021 quarantine-inspired singles, “Yoga” feat. salem ilese and “STAY IN” feat. LoveLeo, which have been praised by Billboard, Ones To Watch, This Song Is Sick, and more, with Indie Shuffle saying, “with a soundtrack like this, maybe quarantine isn’t so bad.”

Last year, LLusion turned heads with a string of irresistible bops, including “walk but in a garden” feat. mxmtoon and “Sad4good” feat. Cautious Clay, which received widespread acclaim. The Wild Honey Pie called it “a much-needed two minutes of relief from what feels like a dark age” and LADYGUNN gushed, “we wait in anticipation for him to rise to global success.

Stay tuned for LLusion’s debut EP to be released soon!

Run The Jewels, the lauded duo of Killer Mike and El-P, have announced plans to once again expand their infiltration of the beverage industry via a new series of collaborative beers slated for Fall of 2021. In an effort to support and expand inclusivity within the craft beer community the duo have partnered with Black-owned craft breweries and events for a distinctive trio of offerings, with some slated to be debuted at festivals celebrating Black brewers and artists. The new line of beers includes the just-released “Never Look Back,” a premium rice lager brewed in collaboration with nonprofit Beer Kulture at Green Bench Brewing Co in Florida, “All Due Respect,” a molasses and corn grits strong ale brewed in collaboration with Proximity Brewing and Spaceway Brewing that will be released at Black Brew Culture’s Blacktoberfest on October 8th in Durham, NC, and “Blockbuster Night, Pt. 1,” a danky IPA with terpenes brewed in collaboration with Brew Gentleman Brewery of Braddock, PA that is set to debut at Barrel and Flow Fest on September 10th and will also be available for sale online, as part of a Barrel and Flow set, at Tavour.com as part of DigiFlow, the virtual coverage of the fest. Putting money back into the communities where these beers were made is an important component for the duo: a portion of all proceeds from “Never Look Back” will benefit Beer Kulture, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting equitable hiring practices in the brewing industry, while a portion of proceeds from the sale of “All Due Respect” will support Blacktoberfest, and 50% of proceeds from “Blockbuster Night, Part 1” will benefit local Pittsburgh charities serving the children and the arts, including Steel City Arts Initiative.

The new slate of beers underscores the continued growth of Run The Jewels’ beverage ambitions, as they chart a course toward producing their first self-released beers in addition to other planned beer, spirit, and coffee collaborations. Among their other impending releases are a new IPA brewed in collaboration with Brooklyn’s Interboro Spirits & Ales (one of the duo’s early brewing collaborators, with whom they made the award-winning “Stay Gold” IPA), and a new collaboration with Cerveza Minerva in Mexico City slated for this November, the Oh Mama Juicy IPA. And for a very new kind of RTJ libation, they’ll soon be dropping The Ground Below, a cold brew coffee made in collaboration with Chicago’s Dark Matter Coffee that will be available at the Dark Matter booth at Riot Fest on September 17th and to be made available for nationwide shipping at www.darkmattercoffee.com. These all follow in the footsteps of their recent hard seltzer collaboration with Chicago’s City WaterOoh La La” and last year’s ultra ambitious global collaboration “No Save Point” IPA, for which the duo teamed with 13 esteemed breweries from across the world. More info on all the aforementioned can be found at Run The Jewels dedicated beer site.

All That Remains Celebrate 15th Anniversary of "The Fall of Ideals" With Reissue

ALL THAT REMAINS SET TO CELEBRATE 15TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FALL OF IDEALS

The band's breakthrough third album includes "This Calling" + "The Air That I Breathe"

All That Remains are celebrating the 15th anniversary of their breakthrough album, The Fall of Ideals, with a new vinyl reissue, a tour, and a documentary. Set to release on November 12 and available for pre-order today, the best-selling title features such fan favorites as "This Calling," "Six," and "The Air That I Breathe." In addition to the wide release, the band has exclusive colored vinyl variants with deluxe packaging available only at the band's webstore. The band will also be announcing information on their anniversary tour and documentary later this year.

Pre-order The Fall of Ideals here.

Originally released in 2006, The Fall of Ideals launched a new era for All That Remains — finding the band moving away from the death metal of their first two albums (2002's Behind Silence and Solitude and 2004's This Darkened Heart) and settling into the melodic metalcore that defined their career. The Fall of Ideals also introduced fans to the band's longtime bassist, Jeanne Sagan, and marked their only album to feature drummer Shannon Lucas. The newcomers joined founding members Phil Labonte (vocals) and Oli Herbert (lead guitars), as well as rhythm guitarist Mike Martin.

In the studio, the Massachusetts quintet partnered with two prominent metal artists: Killswitch Engage's Adam Dutkiewicz, who served as producer, and Soilwork's Peter Wichers, who engineered the sessions. The dynamic, 11-song set found the musicians pushing their sonic boundaries, while Labonte showcased his broad vocal range —from epic, extended screams and in-your-face growls to emotive choruses. The album spawned a variety of enduring favorites, including the hard-driving "This Calling," which featured in the soundtracks to Saw III and Masters of Horror II, as well as singles "The Air That I Breathe" and "Not Alone." Other highlights included the guitar-forward "Whispers (I Hear You)" and the dramatic "Six," which appeared in Guitar Hero II.

Upon its release in the summer of 2006, The Fall of Ideals was embraced by fans, becoming the band's first album to break the Billboard 200 (peaking at No. 75) and eventually selling more than 450,000 units. The album also caught the attention of critics. Pop Matters hailed, "All That Remains has made the kind of stylistic leap that most bands can only wish they could pull off…The Fall of Ideals [is] invigorating from start to finish, and could very well be the metalcore album of the year." Blabbermouth praised, "All That Remains effortlessly blends thrashy twin guitar fireworks and Phil Labonte's raging vocals with soaring clean vocals and overall tunefulness…There is no denying that those guys play their asses off here and the result is immensely gratifying." Lambgoat simply declared, "The entire band executes the songs perfectly," adding that "the production…is full and crisp."

"We're so thankful to everyone who has kept this disc in their hearts for the past 15 years," says Labonte. "We are proud to celebrate the reissue and can't wait to tell you about all the other cool things we have in store."

In the 15 years since The Fall of Ideals, All That Remains have built an undeniable legacy as one of this century's most consistent purveyors of heavy music with a bulletproof canon of arena-worthy anthems. Currently consisting of Labonte and Martin, as well as drummer Jason Costa, bassist Aaron Patrick and lead guitarist Jason Richardson, the band continues to defy the odds of its genre. To date, they have sold more than a million albums worldwide, earning five consecutive Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart, and boasting more than 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify — an unprecedented feat for any metal band. In 2018, All That Remains released their widely acclaimed ninth studio album, Victim of the New Disease.

BASTILLE PERFORMS “DISTORTED LIGHT BEAM” ON GOOD MORNING AMERICA’S SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

This morning, Bastille returned to Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series to perform their electric hit single, “Distorted Light Beam”—watch their performance HERE and watch their interview for Good Morning America Digital HERE.

“Distorted Light Beam,” a retro-futuristic pop anthem that was the first taste of the band’s forthcoming new album, was co-written and co-produced with Ryan Tedder alongside the band’s long-time collaborator Mark Crew and shows the next evolution of Bastille’s sound. The song was released earlier this summer alongside a cinematic official video starring British actress Remmie Milner from the BAFTA-winning series, Save Me, and frontman Dan Smith—watch HERE. “Distorted Light Beam” continues to climb up the Alternative Radio Chart and currently sits in Top 15. In support of the track, the band recently released a live performance video, “How We Made It” breakdown, and “Behind The Lyrics” video.

Last week, Bastille dropped their latest euphoric single, “Thelma + Louise”—listen HERE. On the song, they pull together the punchy drum machines and dreamy synths of the 80’s with a newfound sparseness, creating a fresh backdrop for a classic, anthemic chorus. Co-written with legendary songwriter Rami Yacoub (Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time”, Lady Gaga’s Chromatica Album) and Mark Crew, it’s an infectious meditation on “days like these” where you want to just get away, whether that’s simply shutting your eyes and imagining yourself somewhere else or driving down to Mexico and leaping off the edge of the world. The song cleverly taps into the dichotomy at the heart of the 1991 classic film, where freedom and living in the moment are tempered by the threat of cold, hard reality intervening at any moment.

Escapism is a theme that’s explored in depth on Bastille’s upcoming record, especially in connection with technology—in this case under the watchful gaze of Future Inc., a data-hungry, fake big tech enterprise from the future (that may or may not bear some resemblance to big tech enterprises in the present). The company’s innovative “Futurescape” technology (as seen in the video for “Distorted Light Beam”) is offering infinite possibilities of a new kind—the chance to journey in to your own innerverse.

In Dan’s words, the concept gives Bastille the opportunity to “poke fun at the way these companies appeal to us and appeal to the world, and advertise themselves and talk about themselves, and take themselves really seriously and earn huge amounts of money whilst taking all our data and more.” Watch Bastille talk about the inspiration behind Future Inc. HERE.

Additionally, he uncovered the intense music video for the new single “VINNY ROTTEN” [feat. Kim Dracula]. On the track, gritty production grinds against explosive guttural barks from SosMula before Kim Dracula rolls through with a maniacally wild cameo punctuated by an unnerving melody. The visual brings this lyrical maelstrom to life seamlessly.

He initially preceded this body of work with the insurgent anthem “Criminal,” generating over 1 million cumulative streams and views right out of the gate. On the album, he attracted a powerhouse guest list of fellow disruptors, including Nascar Aloe on “STAIN, Jasian on “CANT FEEL MY FACE,” XanMan on “LIL PSYCHOS, and Brooklyn drill firestarter Bizzy Banks for “WHIP PARKED. Not to mention, his City Morgue brother ZillaKami pulls up for the bold and brutally catchy “BOOGALOO.

SosMula doesn’t just break the boundaries between genres—he demolishes them beyond all recognition. Trouble was never too far behind him though, and after a stint in jail, he linked up with now partner-in-crime ZillaKami on the day he got out. Finding a devilish nook in the middle of metal, trap, rock, and “gangster shit, he owns this realm. City Morgue has accomplished the unprecedented, elevating the underground into the mainstream without losing any grit. After the success of CITY MORGUE VOL. 1 HELL OR HIGHWATER, the group’s 2019 sophomore set CITY MORGUE VOL. 2: AS GOOD AS DEAD captured the #1 spot on the Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart and #1 on the Apple Music Rock Albums Chart. Asking Alexandria Debut New Single "Alone Again" + Announce New Album

BRITISH ROCK BAND ASKING ALEXANDRIA

INVITE LISTENERS TO ‘SEE WHAT’S ON THE INSIDE,’

WITH NEW ALBUM SET FOR OCTOBER 1 RELEASE

PRE-ORDER NOW

FIRST SINGLE “ALONE AGAIN” OUT NOW, GIVING FIRST TASTE OF THE BAND’S EMOTIONAL, RAW RETURN TO FORM

image005.png

Acclaimed British rock group Asking Alexandria just announced the October 1 release of their upcoming full-length studio album See What’s On The Inside. The announcement comes fresh off the news of their new global deal with Better Noise Music earlier this year, when they were signed by label president Dan Waite out of the company’s London office. The new album is now available for pre-order and pre-save across platforms HERE.

The band is celebrating the album announcement with the release of first single “Alone Again” today. A raw, emotional, introspective rock anthem, the single was co-written by all five members and offers a fitting first sampling of the full-length LP. Tapping into a renewed sense of creative energy, the band is more aligned than ever and rediscovered their love for songwriting and making music together during the recording sessions for this album. “Alone Again” and an extended “Intro” for the song are now available to stream and download across platforms HERE.  A striking lyric video for “Alone Again” is available to view HERE.

Of the single, the new album and the new chapter with Better Noise, founding member and lead guitarist Ben Bruce said, “‘Alone Again’ and the rest of this album is the result of us reconnecting and falling back in love with why we started this band in the first place. No frills or cheap tricks, just the five of us playing our instruments as hard and as loud as we can! At some point in our lives, we all feel lost and confused as to who we are and who we want to be, and I think this song will really unite all of us in that sense. We are so excited to share, not only this new song with you all, but our new album. We went back to our roots as musicians and really wanted to reignite that passion and love for rock and metal music. Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Aerosmith, AC/DC….all the greats that we fell in love with as kids have greatly influenced this new album and we couldn’t be more excited!”

As the band prepares to put this new body of work out into the world, reintroducing themselves as a creative collective armed with a new sense of clarity and purpose, they will also be reconnecting with fans on the road. Earlier this month, they were announced to join A Day To Remember on their “Re-Entry Tour” throughout North America. The tour kicks off on September 28 in Rochester, NY, and goes until November 6 in St. Augustine, FL. See full list of dates below. The band will also be playing at a select list of key festivals this fall.

Movements Drop B-Sides 7" Today

MOVEMENTS ANNOUNCE B-SIDES RELEASE + YOU CAN GET IT RIGHT NOW!

Southern California's MOVEMENTS have released their B-sides 7" today, August 20, via Fearless Records. Get it here.

It includes two new tracks — "Panic" and "No Silhouette."

The 7" comes in two configurations: Grape Candy Purple, limited to 500 copies, and Coke Bottle Clear, limited to 500 copies.

Both songs were recorded during the sessions for the band's most recent album, No Good Left to Give, described as a "step forward for the band" by Brooklyn Vegan. These tracks ultimately didn't make the final cut at the time but Movements knew they wanted to release them into world eventually.

And that time is now.

Singer Pat Miranda explains how these tracks factored into the band's overall creative process, sharing, "Back in 2017, when we went into the studio to record Feel Something, we only showed up with 7 or 8 songs ready to go. We were pressed for time to finish writing four more songs in the studio in order to finish the record. A few years later, when we went into the writing process for No Good Left To Give, we decided to be overly prepared for the studio in order to maximize production time."

He furthers, "The four of us spent almost a year writing and tracking demos to bring with us to the studio, and throughout that process, we ended up writing about 18 songs. This allowed us to get into the studio, go over everything we had, and trim down the record to the songs that we felt were the absolute best. We ended up recording 14 songs, but only putting 12 on the record. The two songs that didn't make the cut were 'Panic' and 'No Silhouette,' and we're stoked to finally be able to release these songs to the public."

Regarding 'Panic,' Miranda shares that the song felt similar to other Movements material and that the "overall feeling and message of the song was one we'd already put out in other songs," and that's why it was left off the album. Still, it remained a band favorite. He explains, "The goal of NGLTG was to feel fresh and new, and 'Panic' is a song that felt like more of an extension of our previous music instead of a progression. That being said, we all love this song! It's upbeat, catchy, and feels fun, but the lyricism gives a different message. The song explores the ins and outs of living in a constant state of anxiety. We talk about the idea that worry, stress, anxiety attacks — although mostly uncontrollable — almost become a habit and something that feels impossible to break."

When it comes to "No Silhoutte," Miiranda says, "That was a song that we felt just didn't stand up to the sonic environment of the rest of the record. It's slightly more 'poppy' than the rest of the music. We felt it might feel unrelated to the overall theme of the record so we decided to leave it off. The song itself addresses the loss of a loved one from the perspective of someone on the outside of the situation. It's about watching someone you love lose someone that they love, and being there with them through it all. The idea was 'If you're going through hell, I'm coming with you.'"

Movements are intimately involved in curating the artwork, imaging, branding, and videos for all of their releases — and the B-sides effort was no different.

"The album art for NGLTG was a series of photos taken by our touring photographer and dear friend Anthony Purcella," Miranda says. "Inspired by collages made from vintage magazine clippings, we chose to take photos of two subjects, and then rip them up and glue them together to create visually interesting pieces of artwork."

Miranda continues, "The NGLTG album art is very bright and bold. We wanted to maintain a similar theme for art with the B-sides, but decided to approach it with the opposite mood in mind. Having the collage aspects still seen throughout the B-side art was important to us, but we wanted it to feel darker, more moody, and intense-looking. The photos we used are from the same shoot as the original photos, but we specifically chose the shots that shared a similar feeling. They feel more lonely and cold. Creating that contrast between the album and the B-sides helps define the separation. They’re meant to be connected, but distant at the same time."

“As Solar Power meditates on the tension between achievement and comfort, it grazes masterpiece status—the only thing holding it back may be Lorde’s disinterest in chasing accolades.” – The Atlantic

“She’s so great at this, so convincing and smart, you’ll feel yourself falling under Solar Power’s spell ... She may not be our deity anymore, but in the world of pop music, Lorde’s ability to make moving art is everlasting.” – i-D

“At 24, Lorde is already a de facto elder stateswoman of the female-centered sound she helped pioneer: a nameless genre somewhere between high-gloss pop and indie rock, untroubled by the stringent rules of Hot 100 radio.” – Entertainment Weekly

“Solar Power is a lot of things, but more than anything, it sounds like true autonomy.” – The Cut

Of the album Lorde says, “The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalizing the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors. In times of heartache, grief, deep love, or confusion, I look to the natural world for answers. I’ve learned to breathe out, and tune in. This is what came through.”

To honor the natural world the artist is presenting the album in a first-of-its kind, discless format. An eco-conscious Music Box will be available for purchase as an alternative to a CD. This innovative offering will contain extra visual content, handwritten notes, exclusive photos, and a download card. The card will give purchasers a high-quality download of the music, two exclusive bonus tracks, and access to some special surprises along the way.

When talking about the concept Lorde says, “I decided early on in the process of making this album that I also wanted to create an environmentally kind, forward-thinking alternative to the CD. I wanted this Music Box product to be similar in size, shape and price to a CD, to live alongside it in a retail environment, but be something which stands apart and that’s committed to the evolving nature of a modern album.”

Earlier this summer, Lorde announced her 2022 World tour dates. The sold-out 40+ show tour, promoted by AEG Presents in the US and Canada, is her first North American tour since 2018 and kicks off in North America in Nashville on April 3 at the Opry House before concluding at the Santa Barbara Bowl on May 7.
